Some transfer tid-bits from Lyall (on Song, Kramer, and MS) ...
=====================================
So CDM is still the most important buy for Spurs this window. An ITK said we are locked on 3 choices. After MS and not getting the good kids, not sure who the 3 would be.

Morgan Schneiderlin - The gold standard for Poch, but just does not seem like it will happen.
Kramer & Rabiot - Spurs love them, but current team not selling
Sven Bender - Prototypic DM size. But does he offer anything going forward?
Mario Suarez - Good positional DM, but also, does he offer anything going forward?
Sérgio Oliveira - Looked good against U21, but is he ready for PL?
Pierre Højbjerg - Looked good against U21, but is he ready for PL?
James McCarthy - Slight improvement and would allow Bentalib more forward freedom.
Esteban Cambiasso - Not sure what the player wants or if he has anything left
Alex Song - ok

Am I missing anyone?

I know those bastards are spending like there's no tomorrow, but looking at the numbers: Depay 25m, Darmaio 13m, Schweinsteiger 15m. That's 53m. I'll claim they need a CB and two new strikers (with Falcao gone, RVP on his way and Hernandez out of favor) before another CM. At the level of players, they're going for right now, a imo reasonable estimate would be 20m for a CB and 30m each for the strikers. That'll bring their spending to above 130m. Unless they sell Di Maria, I cannot see them throwing another 25m at MS and going above the already insane amount, they spent last year. Maybe I'm reaching, but I just cannot see MS being a priority at this stage for them.

i know that Song is a cunt, but with that being said, he could be a good player for us. A upgrade in the DM position. Not my first or second choice but better than another Stambouli or Capoue.

Don't hate me lads :avbpray:

If we do actually manage to get rid of Adebayor this window, then I seriously don't want us bringing in another former-Gooner cunt on inflated wages (and with an apparent attitude problem).

There have to be better midfield targets out there; both younger and on lower wages. If we went for Song, then I'd be very disappointed in Mitchell's scouting.

The thing is, £130m is easily in their budget. They're buying their way out of the hole caused by their poor succession planning for Fergie.

Thanks to their commercial firepower, they can lob £200m at the market and still be ok under FFP.

i agree with you. Let's hope we sign a guy like Kramer or Bender.

They can't do it forever though. Even doing it last year hurt them. They still carry a huge debt (£381 mil) which has high interest rate, they have a big squad (33 players) as it is on big wages (£215 million a year in 2013-14). There's a big difference between £200 mil being possible and £200 mil being an attractive proposition.

I don't think United can spend £300 million in two years, on top of wages and debt interest.

Their debt is really not that big of a problem for them. They have zero problem financing it, and have paid it down enormously. Their resources are simply massive.

Pirlo will make a comeback in Spurs. ITK.

Don't forget that Adidas is paying them a minimum of 75m per year for the next 10 years.

I realize they have big incomings, but their expendures are huge too. If they're spending that big in the market, salaries are big too. That 75m is only five or six players on Di Maria wages! If they can seriously spend 100m-plus net every year, then FFP is a disaster, cause noones gonna catch them (financially) in the next 20-30 years.

So they can lob £200m at the market,; while we seemingly can't throw even £1 at the market. We are the only club that has to break even each year. So frustrating. A lot of you seem to be proud of this policy. I'm embarrassed by it.
