So they can lob £200m at the market,; while we seemingly can't throw even £1 at the market. We are the only club that has to break even each year. So frustrating. A lot of you seem to be proud of this policy. I'm embarrassed by it.
I dont think their spending is an ownership policy per se it is more of a logical calculation. Getting rid of decent hg backups to bring in commercially viable water carriers or old stars like falcao and maybe soon herr schweinsteiger. They are not spending loads of money in a vacuum-- they know they will make up every penny in shirt sales etc. if we had the brand backing we would do something similar to a limited extent (arguably we do with dempsey and yedlin)

You know the fake stadium we are not building..do you think that would be possible if we were not as financially healthy over the last 15 years, and riddled with debt?

Exactly. They are still 'balancing' their books, just they have more to play with atm.

If United do get Schweinstiger that surely removes them from trying to get Schneiderlin. Then it's down to us and possibly the scum who can realistically get him.

It would make my day...and my hole weak (durty) getting him.

The ITK who was commenting on this said he is only interestedin a Champions League club, and that has been true from day one. We have never been in the frame.

If he doesn't go to Woolwich then he will stay at Southampton.

Man Utd should be embarrassed throwing £200m at the market and finishing 4th.

What a great football mindset - "I WANT TO SPEND HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF POUNDS JUST BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE DOES".

What a great example. Burning through Europe's best youth to find the odd gem like Chelsea, destroying careers in the process.
Or paying £25m+ for every squad player you purchase like City - Fernando, Fernandinho, Mangala, Dzeko, Jovetic...god knows what wages those boys are on. Jovetic didn't even make their fucking final squad.

You shouldn't aspire to that - you should be embarrassed by it.

Man United's transfer policy seems to be - find the best rated players on fifa and buy them...

If you add what they paid for De Gea, Van Persie and Kagawa the season before then it is well over £250 million in 3 years.

=====================================

Morgan Schneiderlin - The gold standard for Poch, but just does not seem like it will happen.
Kramer & Rabiot - Spurs love them, but current team not selling
Sven Bender - Prototypic DM size. But does he offer anything going forward?
Mario Suarez - Good positional DM, but also, does he offer anything going forward?
Sérgio Oliveira - Looked good against U21, but is he ready for PL?
Pierre Højbjerg - Looked good against U21, but is he ready for PL?
James McCarthy - Slight improvement and would allow Bentalib more forward freedom.
Esteban Cambiasso - Not sure what the player wants or if he has anything left
Alex Song - ok
