Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang happy at Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has dismissed speculation linking him with a move away from the Bundesliga club this summer.
Aubameyang has been linked in the French press with a move to Woolwich and Tottenham, but after scoring in a 2-0 friendly win over Juventus on Saturday, the Gabon international said he is going nowhere.

"You can take it for granted that I am not going to waste any time thinking about giving up how happy I am at Borussia, in the city of Dortmund and with this team," he told the Welt am Sonntag newspaper.

"Dortmund have won the title twice in the last five years, we reached a Champions League final and had Real Madrid on the brink of elimination in the group stage when they went on to win it.

"If I didn't believe that I could win titles with Dortmund, then I wouldn't be here."

Aubameyang does believe he can win trophies with Dortmund and even believes another Bundesliga title is possible this season.

"There should not be any reason for any team to hide in this league," he said. "We've always proven we are capable of beating [Bayern Munich] in a single match, but of course they have a better chance over the course of a season.

"But I don't see them having any particular right to the title like many people here in Germany do."

Because it is highly unlikely we will not pay the asking price .
Levy is infamous as the worlds NO 1 tightest micro slaphead .
All, every single one of your posts make me feel like this

WBA would be fools to accept 15m given how inflated the market is (and the fact that Berahino is English). Think they would be looking for around 22m ...which is too much tbh. We will settle at around 18m i think (or less and they take Lennon).
That being said, of the handful of clubs that could pay something in the vicinity of £20m, how many are actively looking for a striker? There's ManU for sure, but they aren't interested in Berahino. Liverpool has already done their striker business. Woolwich think they are more in the Benzema market. City doesn't really have a need. Chelsea only if they wanted to add him to their stockpile of loanees. Newcastle or West Ham?? I don't see it.

So they kind of have to take it or leave it with our valuation if he's to be sold in England.

then they shall surely leave it

Agree.
It's a romantic thought, us building a squad from youth players and relatively unknown players and all, but we've established ourselves as a top 5 club, pushing on for top 4, and it would be stupid to let go now.
We have to bring in some definite quality if we want to compete on the short term.

It is excessive because we have Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli and Kane whom most on here think should be our starters, and we still want to be able to try out the youngsters. A big squad hasn't worked for us, so why try it again.
Fallacy, sammy.

Yeah, splash the cash on a guy like Moses who's done fuck all for years, instead of a much cheaper, "homemade" solution like Pritchard who's been immense for his team and played regularly.

As little as 8 days ago you were all about the youth though.

How funny that you were so vocal in disagreeing with my concerns about the squad (that we needed to upgrade on the kids in several key areas). What happened in a week?

We didnt sign anyone and now the panic is creeping in?

People pretending they were all calm and easy about us going into the new season with Alli as back up to Mason, Carroll waiting to step in should Eriksen get injured, and Townsend and Lamela still faffling about being turd.....yet all the while they were hoping for and expecting signings.

:adelol:

That's certainly a possibility, but I'm just saying the market is not as inflated as you might think in this situation, home grown or not. I personally hope we get Berahino, as he has been my first choice all along, but Levy would be wise to keep exploring other options so that WBA still have to come to us on any Berahino negotiations, with no leverage on their end.

But I'm sure Levy hardly needs such advice from the likes of me.

And we will finish up with a cheaper, second or third choice alternative. And everyone will praise Levy for our balance sheet.

Exactly ,like we do every season. I pretty much know how exactly this is going to play out. Berahinio is our top target no doubt. We will bid a silly amount which will be rejected. This will go on and on until the last week of the window. We wont get Berahino but instead some 3rd choice alternative cheaper version from abroad. I couldn't give a fuck about this balance sheet. We have enough funds so let's show some ambition for once and pay the full amount for Berahino

i am hoping theres some player(s) pulis wants of ours. ones we dont want of course.
lennon & 10m? or vlad & 30m?
id let carrol go if he wanted him. but he dont seem like a pulis type player. i think he would like a fast winger like lennon or townsend.

Jesus. What about quoting what I responded to? You requested FIVE midfielders/strikers, including Moses.
I'm talking about getting in 2, perhaps 3, TOP QUALITY players. If guys like Moses is what we're aiming for I'd rather keep the money and go for guys like Pritchard. Incredible how stupid you make yourself look in order to (try to) slate me.

The situation hasn't changed, still need a striker, a centre mid and maybe cover in a wing forward position

I am sure they are waiting to finalise deals on Soldado and ade before getting a striker, I don't know what the hold up for defensive mid is though?

I think we will put a couple of the kids back on loan who don't impress pre season, maybe Townsend too

Hopefully lennon (with regret), vlad, ade and soldado go in this window.

I doubt Berahino is our first choice by a wide margin.

He is good, but not significantly better than either Werner or Batshuayi. And Aubameyang would be much better than any of them (granted, that option seems to be the purest of red top bullshit).

There's not a lot of great options out there this year, and Pochettino would seemingly prefer no choice to a bad choice.

We'll see what happens.
