One thing I can observe is you seem to have a strange affinity with mice, do you have a mice army in your basement? If so post pics

I don't want us paying huge sums and insane wages

£15 million is no longer a 'huge sum'. 60k a week is no longer a huge sum. People are still judging players based off of a 2010-2013 basis, when our income has more than doubled since then in terms of tv money.

The TV deal for 2016 onwards is £5.1 billion, and that's without foreign broadcasters too, so over £6 bil.
The current deal is £3billion
In 2010 it was £1.7 billion

Newcastle have spent £14 million on one player and £13 million on another, and this is a team fighting relegation. If a relegation threatened team with poorer finances can cough up that sort of money, then I'm sure we can too and so it shouldn't be considered huge.

What we need is world class

Name me some world class players who have come into the Premier League and not joined a top 4 side. I'm struggling to think of any. Benteke isn't world class. Maybe Tevez, 7 years ago? We can't compete with United and Chelsea for world class players and they in turn can't compete with Real Madrid, Bayern and Barcelona.

Yeh considering Berahino's ability and the current market Levy would get £30 million at least for him, so if we get him for 20 mil that's a good deal IMO.

I'm expecting the "Disagrees" for this but this is my genuine fear and opinion which i'm entitled to,

I hope in 9 Months time someone is coming back to this and saying to me "Told you so you fucking mug", unfortunately i cant see it.

I feel the way things are going we will be struggling for a top half finish this year never mind top 4-6, Top 4 is DEFINITELY out of the question there is not enough creativity, fight, experience in the squad to live with the "Top Teams" i feel we are being looked upon now as an Everton/Stoke type of club and this will also mean losing some of the gems already at the lane, Loris/Erikssen/Kane because them 3 are the only ones for me that would get into a top 4 side, all the rest have things to prove this year (Mason/Bentaleb are young enough to warrant being excluded from this)

Anyway hit me with the dislikes for being a realist :)

I imagine that any first bid going in for any player is a bargaining chip towards both the selling club and the player.

Let's take Berahino as an example. He probably wants £100k a week and a £2m sign on. West Brom want £20m.

We offer £10m to West Brom and the package he wants to Berahino. West Brom say no, so we go back to Berahino, sorry our hands are tied... Unless you go to £60k a week, then we can give West Brom what they want. Players head is turned, he agrees, we up our offer and he signs. Total package over five years is the same either way.

And I know we aren't supposed to talk to the player before a bid is accepted, but I'm sure we're all grown ups in here?

Hahahahah, so a team that finished 5th with the youngest average age in the premier year, that has grown in experience, that has gotten fitter, that has brought in new players, that played most of last season without a RB or a proper striker until November is going to struggle to finish 10th?

Fuck off.

I'm not going to hit disagree, but am going to suggest if you think we will drop out of the top ten, you have the most special of needs.

We have kept our best players and strengthened our defence. Why do you think we will suddenly do much worse?
