Well that was one ineffectual exit-strategy from Berahino

Why didn´t he just use the "I´ll undermine my manager"-tactic: Laugh when the gaffer is speaking, say "idiot" just audibly when you pass him, get in an argument and ask the manager: "did you ever play football ?" And lastly: get overly physical - not violent - just some hair-tussling or a really hard condescending pat on the back or simply blocking his way in the hallway for ten seconds jumping back and forth - the little things count you know.

He´d be gone in 24 hours

But why is this the fault of the head coach?

I mean, surely anyone with a shred time as fandom can see consistent failing that have run through all managers?

Read my earlier post.

What I'm trying to say is Poch, other than being a poodle, had no qualifications for getting the job.

If I'm missing some of his managerial achievements can someone enlighten me???

At least AVB had some credibility!

Now go figure.

This thread. Fuckin WOW.
I've been here since 2012, same shit when it comes to transfer window time. For once, I'm actually glad that it ended the way it did. Some class signings early on, really happy with Son a couple of days ago. Really happy we didn't get Berahino, said all along that there was better options out there. I think someone else on here mentioned that Berahino could of turned into a problem if he didn't get his own way, well, he did, if you follow Twitter.
Tottenham is better than players with that attitude, and yes, it's better than Chairmen like Levy, but at least he knows where to draw the line when it comes to be held yo ransom

We had one target- Berahino. If we had a plan B, we wouldn't be stuck with one striker until January. Sounds like eggs in one basket to me ? It seems that negotiations started months ago. Our first official bid came a couple of days ago. Since then we have made 3 more bids. Peace & Pulis have both said "never say never" about Berahino but they had named their price for him. Granted, we are not privy to that price & we may have met it -but I would have a bet with you that we came nowhere near to their valuation. If I go into tesco & fill up my trolley with steak & champagne, then offer the cashier 50p I wouldn't expect to get my trolley past the cashier. Whenever I have bought something, I have paid what was asked of me, apart from a pair of sunglasses on holiday 10 years ago that I got the bloke down to €5 for a classy pair of Ray Boms...
This stinks of arrogance from Levy. Four months ago he was told to fuck off by WBA. FOUR MONTHS. But he clearly thought it was all about brinkmanship and he'd prevail nonetheless. After so many late deals in previous windows you have to wonder how a man in his position doesn't learn. It's clear with all these late bids that he thought that he was the big man who'd get his own way with the smaller club, assuming Peace would give out just like he caved over Keane, Berbatov, Modric and Bale when the money was high enough, and he's yet again been out smarted by a chairman who thinks differently. With the risk that such an approach takes, how can you not have a back up and how can you not move onto that back up in the last few days? Chelsea had two bids rejected today for their back up defender after Stones....but, with all their cash, they still left themselves able to negotiate a back up on the last day because they accepted defeat on Stones before deadline day. They tried to prepare and plan for today, even despite their easy cash flow. Why didn't we do that? Where was our back up for our first choice?

God, I feel so angry now. I could swallow it if there were legitimate excuses, but these mistakes, year after year, seem so damned obvious. I feel like Levy is taking the piss out of us.

At the end of the day I guess they did there level best to bring in a striker or two but were ultimately restricted by clubs unwilling to sell or high wage demands, but I don't really understand why they sold soldado in this window, knowing that adey had burnt his bridges, and there was a possibility we'd be left with one all striker for 4-5 months. Doesn't make sense to me, even if he were pushing for the exit door.

Apologist? I'm no fucking apologist, go through my posts and see what I've said. You're having a fucking laugh, blaming Poch for Levy fucking up. You're nothing but a deluded hypocrit
Have we got this wrong mate .?

I doubt it. Won't close for a while yet. Plenty more tantrums, cunt-offs and sin bins to go.

Levy doesn't sign a striker, it's none of our fault, yet people abuse each other for differing opinions :pochfacepalm:

Differing opinions?

How about:
Idiot A gloats about "being right" that we signed no one.
Turns out, though, that Idiot A wrote some weeks ago that we would definitely sign a striker "end of".
Idiot A is then, rightly, "cunted off"

Now, Idiot A should pack up his stuff and fuck off for good.

We pay top money for mediocrity but guess your right ENIC are doing a marvellous job and we have really progressed in the last 5 years or so.

Don't be a complete balloon. Twisting what I say to make it like I'm saying ENIC are the best thing ever. We pay "top money" *alledgedly* because we are a big club based in London with a small ground.

SUPPLY AND DEMAND.

Nothing to do with mediocrity at all. Paying so called "top prices" doesn't entitle you to be the best team, seriously. We are sensibly priced based upon location and standing as one of the biggest teams in the most watched league in the world.
