So, after the disappointments after deadline day let's look at how the squad looks until January:

Keepers:

Lloris, Vorm, McGee

Brilliant to keep Hugo, although this could be his very last season for us. Fantastic to have him for one more year though. McGee looks talented.

9/10

Defenders:

RB: Walker, Trippier

With Yedlin out on loan, it means that we will have healthy competition on the right. It was a problematic position last season. Kyle has finally a capable rival for the position

7/10

Alderweireld, Fazio, Vertonghen, Wimmer
This part of the squad also needed strengthening and with Wimmer and Alderweireld we look much better. I thought Fazio had some decent games last season and with Dier moving into midfield for some games I can see him starting with Wimmer in the Europa League for instance. On paper this looks good. I am hopeful that Jan and Toby can build a very good partnership like at Ajax. Good decisions to let Kaboul and Vlad go.

8/10

Rose, Davies
A position that didn't need changing after last season imho. Davies needs to up his game a bit for me, but Rose is twice the player I thought he would be. Think he might improve further too..

7/10

Midfielders:

Bentaleb, Dier, Mason, Alli, Vejlkovic, Winks

I am worried that this part of the team will be too inexperienced. One older statesman would have been good, but there is a lot of promise in this group, with especially Alli looking very good. I don't regret the decisions to sell Paulinho, Capoue, but I think it would have made sense to keep Stambouli. The likes of Winks and Vejlkovic might get chances in the Europa League.

6/10

Attacking midfielders:

Dembele, Eriksen, Lamela, Chadli, Clinton, Son, Townsend, Onomah, Carroll, Pritchard
We got a lot of different options here now, and the one thing we really lacked - pace - have been added. Dembele needs to be more direct and he is with Lamela and Townsend among the players who really needs to show their worth this season. Exciting to see whether Onomah, Pritchard or Carroll can make an impression this season already. Perhaps in the Europa League? Clinton and especially Son will be very exciting to see. The latter may become a favourite for the crowd.

8/10

Striker:

Kane

The discussion whether Son. Chadli and/or N'Jie Clinton are attackers or strikers will go on, but I still have the opinion that we don't have that central forward that can alone on top when Harry needs a rest or god forbid gets an injury. Harry is class though. And we won't promote Ade back into the squad will we?

7/10
Add goals to some of these players 9/10.

My feeling is that ENIC have used Spurs to grab land around the Stadium for lower than market value, with an eye on future returns. The football part of the deal has always been secondary to the property.

ENIC do just enough to make it look like our Team was the priority....just enough...sort off, but coming up short happens too often for it to be a fluke of nature.

This summer for me feels like it's alls changed, As soon as the Stadium plans were passed & the regeneration really began & the football side of things could be milked the pretence could be ( and has been ) dropped.

I can hear our boardroom saying "let them eat cake" ...the them is us sadly.........

No one on our board of management could honestly give a shit as they let this transfer window bollocks happen with such stunning ineptitude. I understand that they are all richer than 99% of us ever will be so why should they care what the plebs think.....but actually they should.

The disconnect between them & US is huge, after today it's wider than it's ever been. How sad

I assume the thinking at board level will be finishing 5th or 15th does not really matter, it's 78 million or 88 million ( can't be arsed to check the total prize money ) so best keep our money locked up & just pretend there was a try to buy someone.

The worst thing about all this is that we fans all care so much. We believe in Echos of Glory. Sadly, we celebrate coming up short too much now. It can no longer be a chance occurrence to be Spursy, it's from the Top down.

I realised something tonight.........Scholar bought Gazza ( Statement of Intent ) Sugar bought Klinsman ( Statement of Intent ) Levy just digs around in the bargain bins & offers less than market value ( statement of tightness and greedy behavior ) dragging us down in everyone's estimations. He's not a visionary or a misguided chairman. He's just inept.

A point not many make in regard to Levy's genius is that he never fails to get a SALE over the line does he ? ( Ade aside perhaps but that is God's business it appears ) tell you something about his focus & ability. Even a spaz could buy a player @ 26 million and try to Loan them out 2 seasons later ! So stupid.

We are THFC one of the top 15 clubs in the whole of Europe & yet we have 1 Striker and our 5th choice Centre Back @ DM....it's criminal how this is allowed to happen.

This Cheap behavior is not "aiming so high that even failure will have an Echo of Glory" How this feels tonight should not be just how it is at little old Spurs

LEVY FUCK YOU & FUCK OFF ENIC your time is up.

What style? We have no style bar passing sideways and letting in goals. Time will tell on Son. I hope he is devastating. I won't be celebrating an unknown just yet. I have even less hope for N'jie.

If Toby is our best then worry. Worry like I do. He will need a season at least and a regular cb pairing. Verts and our game load will see if your predictions and optimism will see if he's the new Kompany or King. I doubt it. Maybe in 5 years. Maybe.

Alli came from Div 3. Sorry
The pressing style which hasn't been great at the start of this season yes, but that doesn't mean its not going to work and we should stop it.

Time will tell with all our signings just like every team in the world nothing is guaranteed. I do admit im not sure how Clinton will adapt but I think Son will be great for us.

Toby is our best defender, why should we worry? No one said he will be the next Kompany or King only you put that expectation on him. He is an improvement on last seasons defenders along with Wimmer and I thought thats what we want, an improvement.

Alli has looked great when hes come on to be honest, why moan about him? Some of our recent English stars have come from lower leagues to do fine!

I actually think Levy has a gambling problem that manifests itself as "negotiating". No other reason to so utterly fail at buying a striker yet again. Either that or he's the Derek Zoolander of buying goal scorers.

Anyway, cheer up. At least we've got some pace again once Son and N'jie get in the squad

You have never seen the 2 new boys play but you're confident they will be great and improve the team.

I would rather Townsend and Lennon but there you go.

I wouldn't have minded a decent foil for Kane too. I guess it's just me. But I like to see us actually improve the team.
Yet it seems you're writing them off already. I've seen a bit of Son through the Champions League and German League highlights. Njie I haven't but I'm confident in any signing Poch brings in.

The problem with Townsend and Lennon was end product, something we needed to improve on.

Totally agree mate. Without sounding like some 'I told you so twat' I have said this since we sold Carrick. In one of my few itk's moments I was made aware of how Kelmsley treat the negotiations with Carrick and his dad. Eunuch couldn't believe they were getting 18.5m for him. They had no understanding of football. There was never a doubt he would be sold despite Carrick wanting to renegotiate his contract. Then there was the Jol debacle. Only Redknapp, someone I wasn't a fan of, has ever managed to keep these fools away from the football team. He didn't suit their agenda. Shame he was only in it for himself too.

The property stuff has only really come to light recently. They saw the millions scum get from the flats they built. That is worth far, far more than winning the league and champions league twice on the spin. Especially in London.

Eunuch would have sold to Cain but the deal they offered was only for the club and stadium. Not the surrounding land. Cain thought they were buying everything. Hence why they walked.

They bought the club for 30m. Levy has earnt more than that in 10 years. We have been raped. Our club is worth between 500 to 800m now yet net spend in 8 years is standing at about 750k.

Still simpletons defend these cunts.

In my opinion, this is the best post I've ever read on this forum

Maybe this is why Pulis left early…

PULIS FURIOUS BERAHINO WASN'T SOLD

Now, here's a tale we weren't expecting...

According to the Daily Mirror, West Brom manager Tony Pulis has been left fuming after West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace refused to sell Saido Berahino to Tottenham.

The former Stoke City boss was hoping the Baggies would cash in so he could bring in a number of other targets before the window closed.

Thanks you.

You may fuck off yourself.

Our biggest problem last season was our defence. We needed a CB and a RB. It was adressed early.

My guess is the story of the magnificent seven taught the people in charge a lesson about bringing in too many new guys at a time; that's never been a good idea.

We have attacking options.

And strengthening our striker position would be next to impossible, as no fan would allow the manager not to play Kane. Our present cover is good enough as cover. I'm certain Chadli could do as good a job as Kane up there, if not better.
The Super Bale Seven was the worst thing that ever happened to us. Why? Because it was the one time that Levy thought to himself "I'll give the other way a chance". But it just goes to show you his lack of skill in football matters. That summer should've been better by any stretch of the imagination. Levy scatter gunned, but that's what fans had been asking for....especially after the loss of the finest world class player we'd see since Gazza. That said, by the law of averages those players should've offered more for their investment. Now, did he have bad advice from the likes of Baldini, and maybe didn't listen to AVB? We'll never know. But what we do know is that it's the one time that he departed from his usual approach, and it backfired. So now we're back to what we were a few seasons ago because he dipped into the other way and got stung. Trying to get the last minute deal and winging it if we don't manage to pull it off I think is all we'll ever see under Levy.

Now, I don't know how long you have been a fan, but surely you must at least consider the pattern?

I expect more. Much more. For a team that charges the highest season tickets in WORLD sport, think about that. Just spend a moment thinking about that. Think Real Madrid. Think Barca. Think the New York Yankees. Think Manchester United. Think fucking Woolwich ffs.

I expect us to be able sign a new player each season that makes me moist. Not some bald midget fucking off a provincial clubs chairman who becomes so exasperated he makes this fools 'negotiations' public knowledge and embarrasses what used to be a decent club.

Blame Levy. Why would Peace look a fool in front of his fans? His customers. The playing field has changed massively. 22.5m with 5m up front is bollocks when you get 120m just by staying up.

WBA has probably done better business than us thus window. If Pulus is bitching again like he did at Stoke and Palace then maybe bring a manager of a football cub isn't for him.

True to every fucking word. Brilliant pist. a I've had a few tinight. The tide is turding guys. Co me on you Spurs. Fuck off Levy.

There will be a backlash if our points tally doesn't start picking up very quickly. Teflon Dan will do his usual "sack the manager" routine pointing at the poor run of results & we are back to square one. The truth is almost everyone is wise to him now- fans, managers & chairmen. We unsettled Schneiderlin before making an unacceptable offer last summer. We have unsettled Berahino & Wanyama in this window before making unacceptable offers. Now we will end up ditching Poch if he doesn't start getting results, whilst Levy balances the books & takes his hefty bonus. It will be interesting to see how Poch manages the players he has & if he can get our season up & running. I'd really like him to succeed, but I do fear that he is only a couple of bad results away (& a thrashing at one of our rivals) from the boot. It may be melting, but fuck it...it happens so regularly with that bald bastard that it has become a very bad joke.
I would like Poch to succeed as well, but I just think he's been sold a lie and I feel that what's best for him is to get out for his own good if he cares about his future. It sounds absurd, to want a manager to leave for his own good, but I'm beginning to feel that's right. At the time most of us could only view things in context. But over the long term, did Redknapp really deserve the sack? Yes, he had aspects that we didn't like, but his record is unrivaled in the PL era. Then AVB, who says we shafted him on his targets. Then Sherweasel, who is offered no players during his transfer window and then starts criticising Levy with comments like "the silence is deafening". Then Poch.....and, of course, every one of these manager, during a transfer window curiously offers the exact same line...."I am happy with my squad".

If Levy wants to coast for a couple of seasons he may as well just get an Owen Coyle or Big Sam.

Sorry to use you as a sounding board. Just, ugh, so frustrated.

It's not all bad though. On the sky sports app I was browsing through the paper reports to see what is being written about the carnage of deadline day & stumbled across a link at the foot of the page saying "7 things women should know about their lady parts". Have no idea why Pulis is angry at not selling Berahino but at least I know the 7 most intriguing medical facts about fannies.
