I don't think it's such a bad transfer window. Ok, maybe not the best but far from worst.

1) DM position. Dier has pretty much proved that he can play there in the game against Everton. Both Toby and Vertonghen are from the school of total football(Ajax), if there is a need, I believe they could play there as well. Fazio has played there in the past for Sevilla too. The only question I have is whose decision was it to sell Stambouli?

2) Striker. Son and N'Jie should be able play upfront. According to scouting reports, N'Jie is a quite a good finisher. If Poch somehow is willing to open the door for Ade, we have another option. Ade has proven he can play but always just lack motivation.

There is no doubt this team is stronger and closer to what Poch wants. There shouldn't be too many excuses for us not to have a good cup run and finishing in the top 6.

I expect more. Much more. For a team that charges the highest season tickets in WORLD sport, think about that. Just spend a moment thinking about that. Think Real Madrid. Think Barca. Think the New York Yankees. Think Manchester United. Think fucking Woolwich ffs.

I expect us to be able sign a new player each season that makes me moist. Not some bald midget fucking off a provincial clubs chairman who becomes so exasperated he makes this fools 'negotiations' public knowledge and embarrasses what used to be a decent club.
If that's what you believe then fair enough, tbh Son has made me moist lol

I'm probably clutching at straws but are we able to buy out berahinos contract if we wanted to? Are we able to do this? A player for instance can buy out his own contract to become a free agent if he wanted to. We wouldn't be buying him in a transfer but instead paying off his contract to west brom. He is then effectively a free agent and we snap him up straight away. I just feel there's no turning back for peace and Berahino now.

Wtf are you on about the most expensive season tix in WORLD sport?? Woolwich's lowest season ticket is over 200quid more than ours ffs, Spurs for a club that has a 36k stadium, 25-40THOUSAND less seats than some clubs above us and are consistently in the top 5 and are situated in London, 795 isn't as expensive as you think.

Unless you're a Surgeon or lawyer in a great seat in the Synagogue paying well over a grand of course unlike most normal fans.

I guess it is theoretically possible, but I can't remember it ever happening before.

Now according to Audere you get 120million for staying up LOL

Pass the fucking glue mate for fuck sake.

Just imagine if we'd been Woolwich and been the only team in the top 5 European Leagues NOT to sign an outfield player. Just imagine.

Yes we'd only have the FA cup in our cabinet, be playing Bayern Munich in the Champions League and already have more points than us playing badly as opposed to no win whilst apparently playing well and being just so so unlucky.

Unfortunately we'd be cunts instead of mugs and I'd still rather be Levy'd out of my £thousands than one of them.

Other than Ade, I think you're on the ball.

No, we can't do that. That's ridiculous. Get a hold of yourself man.

Sigh.

I would like Poch to succeed as well, but I just think he's been sold a lie and I feel that what's best for him is to get out for his own good if he cares about his future. It sounds absurd, to want a manager to leave for his own good, but I'm beginning to feel that's right. At the time most of us could only view things in context. But over the long term, did Redknapp really deserve the sack? Yes, he had aspects that we didn't like, but his record is unrivaled in the PL era. Then AVB, who says we shafted him on his targets. Then Sherweasel, who is offered no players during his transfer window and then starts criticising Levy with comments like "the silence is deafening". Then Poch.....and, of course, every one of these manager, during a transfer window curiously offers the exact same line...."I am happy with my squad".

If Levy wants to coast for a couple of seasons he may as well just get an Owen Coyle or Big Sam.

Sorry to use you as a sounding board. Just, ugh, so frustrated.
It's been a shitty day as the whole ugly story has unravelled. I'm selfish insofar as I only want to see Spurs do well & I couldn't care less who the manager is if we are doing well. The repeating cycle is fucking boring though. Truly. As you rightly say, how many of our managers have been shafted in the transfer market under Levy? Deadline day deals that fall apart at the seams & make us look small time for the sake of not paying the money for the targeted player(s). Yes it's a business etc etc, but if You want to buy something to improve a business moving forward, you either pay out for what you really want or find an agreeable & cheaper alternative that your staff can actually work with... or you act like a tight fisted arsehole & hope that what you have will not break even though it's creaking like fuck. Or you act like an idiot, buy something that's not fit for purpose & tell your staff that what you have bought is just as good & to get on with it. Frazier fucking Campbell in, Berbatov out. Pushing for top 3, Louis Saha & Ryan Nelson brought in to take us to the promised land? Bale out, 7 gambles in. Rumoured to be getting Schneiderlin who the manager wanted, end up with Stambouli who barely got a game because the manager on the footbling side of things didn't fancy him. It's a good job he's not in charge of the NHS. Surgeons would be doing key hole surgery with A set of car keys ("you asked for tools to do keyhole work, I got you some keys-what's the problem?") . It pains me to say it, but this is a bloody mess right now although it shouldn't really come as a surprise. It's what Levy does. & the manager always seems to carry the can when surprise surprise, he can't hit unrealistic targets because he hasn't got/didn't get the players he needs. It will get to the point where even the Fat Sam's of the world wouldn't touch the Spurs hot seat with a barge pole because of Levy's reputation. & all the while our great club becomes an even bigger laughing stock.
I'm at the point where im resigned to mid table mediocrity & I just hope we play some good swashbuckling stuff along the way. We have no chance of top 4 & less chance of winning the Europa. One striker? A DM who is really a CB (admittedly playing very well, but will pick up suspensions, niggles & be roasted if he does put in a bad shift) with no back up? I hope to God I'm wrong but the omens aren't good. It's going to be a real test of Poch's abilities but his first job (& again it pains me to say it) is to give Ade a number & get the work shy bastard fired up. Because as someone else has said, we are likely to need him at some point when we've broken Kane

Funny thing is, if we'd have left it all until the last minute and bought Son, Alderweireld and N'Jie today lots of people would be much happier with our window.

So many expect the last day to be a big deal and forget the players we've already signed.

Sorry but that's bollocks.

Yedlin out on loan and wasn't being played anyway meant needed right back cover and we got some, he's not played yet so not a first XI player as it stands.
Alderweireld a definite improvement we think, Kaboul has gone and Dier being relied on in CM so needed him and Wimmer. The intention has been to get rid of Fazio (only bought a year go) so had to have 2 centre backs. Nobody knows what Wimmer will be like yet.

Sold Capoue, Stambouli, Holtby, Paulinho. CDM or quality CM was needed and it was a unanimous opinion months ago - fail.

The 3 attackers behind the forwards, specifically the winger/wide types have been generally maligned, even Chadli divides opinion despite his goals. Sold Lennon today. Lamela is shit and was being whored around even yesterday! Townsend not really fancied and inconsistent. We had to get a couple of options and we have Son and N'Jie. The former will hopefully keep up his form and is potentially quality for us , the latter is relatively unproven and raw - potentially much better (pray).

Striker; Ade bombed out months ago, Soldado sold. Needed 2 more in truth, got none - absolute omni-fuck-up.

The rest of the 'acquisitions' and depth (snigger) are kids with no track record at the top level whatsoever (bar Carroll who I think is way off). Heaps of pressure on them, it might break as many as it makes.

On the plus side, next to nothing net spend after a successful deadline day sale to balance the books. Wage bill slashed even with Ade still on the books. Great window.....for Levy and ENIC
