Transfers Summer 2016 Transfer Window Thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

And typical apologist rhetoric as we will
win fuck all.
The funny thing about those referring back to last year as a sort of "you doomsdayers were all wrong" is can anyone see us getting 9pts off the Manchester clubs this season, not losing to Woolwich, Chavs and Liverpool with the squad as it is compared to how they've all improved their sides?

If that gets repeated we can again finish top 4. Will it given we are standing still in the market far more than other clubs. Remains to be seen but not confident.

We only have evidence of that at the complete disaster that was Newcastle the past few years. That rep never was on him for Toulouse or when he plays for France (unlike Adebayor, who mailed it in every club he ever was at).

If Poch decides his issues were Newcastle related (quite possible) and he'd bring it constantly for Spurs, then he'd be a monstrous signing.

Sissoko described Woolwich as "beautiful" - no thank you.

If you look at Leicester City and how they are backing Ranieri and getting their business done and look at us you would be forgiven in thinking they were the club with the greater ambition.

Either Pochetino has uber belief in his and the squad's ability or he has been duped.

We are going to be 2 players short of quality even if we somehow secure the longest transfer saga ever and sign a ridiculously over-prices Sissoko.

Fook me it's discombobulating.

Don't understand the Sissoko hate? He's a quality player. He had an up and down season with Newcastle last year but who didn't in that shower of shite.

Even more perplexing is people seem more apt to pay considerably more for Meyer who has been hot and cold at Schalke. Don't get me wrong I would be pleased if we got him but there is a reason Schalke are even listening to offers. He hasn't really pushed on like expected.

He's a woolwich supporting cunt who has repeatedly begged for a transfer to them, under performed when his team were fighting for survival and generally only turns up when playing on tele. £10 is too much for that fuck and I'm pissed that we didn't go for Wijnaldum if Poch identified an AM as a target.

Pretty sure we will not lose to the Newcastle equivalents twice, it's all swings and roundabouts, even if we bought one decent player in this window, we know what our team pretty much is, 90% of it, they would just help with champions league depth

Surely a loan move should be insanely simple.
I think the problem is that he has 2 years left. At the end of the loan he will have 1 year left and will be worth considerably less. If his loan is unsuccessful, then his value is even more diminished. If he has a good loan, they'll probably price us out of a move but will have to either end up selling him for much less or TRY and get him to sign a new deal.

We aren't finishing top four this season unless we do a Leicester and really play beyond ourselves.

The Manc clubs are a cert, which leaves two places and us competing with Woolwich, Liverpool, Chelsea and Everton. We never finish above Woolwich, and all these teams have strengthened. We played well last year, but our points total was comparable to AVB's full season, when we finished 5th. If that doesn't make it clear that we also benefited from an unprecedented downturn in Manchester and from Chelsea then I don't know what does.

Personally I think we'll be 5th or 6th this year. I don't expect much more, especially with us also having to play CL with an arguably thinner squad. People see last year's finish and get wide eyed and expect a title run. But I think people need to be realistic.

Sissoko isn't an AM though, he's a CM. Our interest in him seems to be driven by the fact we've looked pants without Dembele in the squad. Sissoko would slot directly into that same position and is one of the few players in Europe with a similar playing style to Dembele (deep lying, incredible strength and dribbling ability, direct running).

Maybe Poch thought we'd be OK in situations where Dembele wasn't available, but saw that wasn't true. We just don't know.

Isco looks a bit lardy to me.

I imagine that it's a risk worth taking for him rather than sit on a bench at Real

Ah the Woolwich love is why he is hated so much... Could care less if he supported the scum personally all the better if one of their own scores a late winner against them.

I hope you're right. Although I now ponder the question, how much is Dembele worth?
