Possibly, but playing every game at Brighton would more likely help him return to form rather than never playing but watching Llorente in training.

I like that Vincent's stayed. It gives us real depth if needed. Llorente uses his body and intelligence well for a relatively slow guy. A year of being around someone who adapted their game based on their physical attributes could work wonders for him.

Either way he's still Spurs so I'll support him through the good times and bad. It would be great to see him become a proper player with us

So. Five players in. Four players after Poch said he wanted four players. But "Levy clearly isn't backing Poch and Poch has to "send messages" in the media to get things done"! :dembelelol: Let's review our business.

Gazzaniga (sp?) - Brought in due to failure to agree a deal for Pau Lopez. Position sorted.
Aurier - Cheaper, younger and potentially better upgrade on Walker.
Sanchez - Very highly regarded player who is a definite upgrade on Wimmer and will be trained to repl;ace Vertonghen in due course, our oldest defensive player.
Foyth (sp?) - Further future cover for central defence in view of the eventual departure of Vertoghen and in keeping with our youth policy.
Llorente - Short term striker cover to fill that much needed gap for when Harry is injured or off the boil.

Plus we did not sell Janssen, which I am happy about, albeit I would have preferred a Prem loan for him. My only disappointment is not buying a midfielder, but it seems pretty clear that we had discussions with Barkley and he backed out of the Chelsea move in the hope of moving elsewhere in Jan - and I think it's reasonable to conclude that elsewhere is us.

So, all in all a pretty good window and our sales means we did it all while staying in the green. Wise considering the stadium cost. Yes, it would have been nice to strengthen before the start of the season, but we all know that Levy is all about making things work financially so we can moan ad infinitum, we know that he'll only sign when he can get the best deal. Hopefully with the talk of the transfer window closing before the season starts this will no longer be an issue going forward.

Also, what happened to all the melters and negative nancies (with the exception of John Thomas John Thomas - fair playt to him and his "generous" 5.5/10 window rating) who were crowing so loudly before the window shut? They are conspicuous in their absence......:pochsmirk:

Also, what a great boost it'll be for the guys to have Juan, Serge and Fernando joining them after a couple of not so great results. A real booster for our season to kick on from.

The team looks balanced, the nucleus has stayed together and we do have a variety of options ranging from speed, height, strength, finesse and brute running through the team.

I love that the teams identify has stated the same as I hate nothing more than complete overhauls where I feel like I'm watching a team full of strangers.

Barkley, Sessegnon and if we like what we see, Meyer on a pre-contract agreement in Jan please

Agree.
However Vincent is very average in the air despite being a slow target man. He is more Soldado than Llorente actually..

His heading ability isn't like Fernandos agreed, but his slower play and strength should draw enough comparisons so that he can analyse how to get the most out of your attributes. Fingers crossed it works out well for him, it's a gutsy move opting to stay and one I'm backing after only one year in the premier league
