Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Just a thought. Alderweireld & Trippier to United, we take Matic and Sanchez on a swap. Someone like Poch can get the best out of both - then we land Willian off Chelski to replace CE. We then need Diop off West Ham and a quality striker for real money out of Levy’s stash.
And of course let’s have Bale back for 2 seasons if the money is right or if there’s a money plus offer from Real involving CE.

The last 3 times we qualified for the CL I always felt like we never exploited this during the transfer window.

If we have learned 1 thing from the last months is that we need 4-5 new players. Normally I am not the one to be too dramatic about the transfer window but now it's just too obvious.

I don't want us to go for some young, hungry future stars. 2 players that I would love to see at Spurs to strengthen our midfield are Youri Tielemans and Sander Berge. Then we also clearly need a new attacking midfielder winger and a striker.

Agreed. Evidently our form proves it was a mistake not to sign anyone. We got away with it this season but let's not push our luck. 4-5 players sounds a good amount. We can offer CL & more money now. Let's make the most of it. But tonight, we celebrate top 4!!

ok with champions league more or less secured I feel better contributing to this thread.

Tripper, Aurier, Davies, Dier, Wanyama, Lamela, Janssen, and Llorente are all really not good enough imo. I think we will entertain offers for all of them plus Rose more then likely.

we've made CL and like Poch says it's time to add the furniture.

CL (99%) secure, let’s see those extra resources used. I think we can safely assume that standing pat in the transfer market is not the best approach. Good thing we found that out!

Make no mistake, we've gotten away with it massively this year.

Huge overhaul required with CL still a bargaining chip for potential transfers (assuming an incredible turnaround of goal difference doesn't happen next weekend).

Fans would rightly be outraged if Levy is as inactive as last year, but that is surely impossible. ENIC need to get deals over the line and not penny pinch by pretending it's still 2016 in terms of prices.

I think Pochettino needs to be clear in his mind about the kind of player he is looking for and who he wants to release.

For too long he has kept players who he hardly plays or trusts and for what reason.

Pochettino's record at spotting talent is questionable son we need him to be better in that regard. Much better.

Was it not the best approach though? We spent nothing, gave ourselves a further year to assess our own squad and potential replacements, finished in the CL places and are challenging, still - in May, to win the CL. What has not investing the past 2 windows cost, relatively? Does anyone feel we were 2 or 3 obtainable players away from being a 95 point title contender? Jack fucking Grealish was the missing link in our title season, was he?

We know very little of how the club really operates and what's really going on. Yet people make claims as if it's an open book. It was a gamble, that if we couldn't get exactly who we wanted we could still get by. And we did...if anything, we've learned to trust our process...whatever that process is.
