The Independent saying Hazard cost Real Madrid an initial £89m rising to a potential £150m with add ons.

I guess that makes a sale of Eriksen to Real Madrid at say £80m rising to a potential £125m or similar structure that much easier for Levy to sell.
I read £160 but either way this is a ton of money. It’s sets the tone of the market, usually this would be good for us as we generally buy more than we sell but it’s highly likely we will have a higher net spend... we’re gonna get less bang for our buck basically. Chelsea screwed us once again

Sissoko says "hold my Beer"

UEFA quote ‘arm in an unnatural position’. What might be natural to one might be unnatural to another... how are they judging this? Sissoko often moves with his arms out, shoulders high and tense... looks his natural stance to me

Not really. Remove Messi and Ronaldo from the equation and Hazard is probably the best player in the world. He practically single handedly got Chelsea into the Top 4 and won them the Europa League final. I'd say he was well worth whatever Madrid paid for him.

People aren't going to look at Ndombele or Lo Celso and say, "Hmm.. Hazard was sold for 'X' so Lo Celso/Ndombele must be worth 'Y'". One is one of the best players in the world who has proven himself time and time again, the others are talented young players with potential. 1 year left on his contract or not, he's well worth the money.

absolutely they will look at hazard, they will think their player has 70% of the appeal and will base their price on 70% of hazards value. So whilst they won’t think it’s a like for like it sets the bar

With Llorente possibly leaving and Jannsen most likely, i haven't seen us linked with any striker except Maximiliano Gomez. Any thoughts on who should be our back up striker?

I think the criteria would be someone young and willing to develop considering their potential lack of starts.

Dele was forced deeper for most of the season due to our midfield issues. Look at his pressures and defensive stats compared to previous seasons. It’s not hard to figure out why his numbers dipped.

This is from earlier in the year, but it illustrates the point:

More here as well:

You have to watch it with stats often they can hide more than they reveal.

Leon Britton, Arteta and Romeu are all midfielders that recorded the highest number of completed passes in their respected seasons.

Their total number of assists .....zero.

does he not split opinion? Some folks living in reality and others clinging on to an image of a player of 2 years ago. There are some Woolwich fans that are still behind Ozil because he is their world class player and you can't just give up WC players, right? Because class, of course, is permanent. that sound familiar? People still listing lineups for next season crowbarring Dele in the lineup. Folks literally want to go through a rebuilding summer, one in which even the Mgr has said is the next chapter, by going back to the 1st chapter with dele having a free role his play does not justify.

But I don't have to defend my position as I have the last two years evidence. If you think I'm off my rocker then answer the simple question of what has he improved in 4 years? He cannot have an unquestioned starting position next season. History suggest he will not improve because of it.

Hang on, we've gone from NDombele and Lo Celso being unrealistic, to NDombele, Lo Celso and Fernandes. That's not including Sessengon, Bowen, Atal etc

I reckon some of us aren't going to be happy come September.
