Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What Poch said about needing new players, he probably meant shifting at least Janssen, GKN and probably KWP since he's being treated like deadweight.
And about needing to sell before we buy, well we got that ball rolling by selling Dembele. That 10m should go straight in to fund a signing in day one.
After that there is still a spare squad space and they can treat the Toby transfer as good as done so there's another 25m and a squad place. Get a minimum two in as soon as, then there's time to offload more players abroad until the end of August.

Eriksen is interested in playing for other clubs. That's why he hasn't committed his long term future here.

....And if those select few clubs were actively interested in him, I'd tend to assume they'd have forced our hand (a la Walker) and he'd already gone. Not saying he's not an appealing player; he could be on a 'run your contract down' promise from RM for all we know, but we can't just forcefully sell him on in the meantime.

Trfs are ultimately a THREE way deal. There's no escaping that.

It's simply not as straight forward as you WANT it to be.... and this is only the proverbial theory; let alone the practice.

What if Levy insists on getting the deadwood off the wage bill first before allowing any new players to come in. This is the usual policy.

Long summer ahead methinks

And herein lies the issue.

I don't see the logic behind flogging players first then buying a replacement. There is no guarantee that you will get the replacement and this is what pisses me right off with the way levy deals with transfers. Always wanting a last minute bargain then having to be the bridesmaid when it doesn't go to plan like Grealish last summer.

This would be my choice if I held the keys to Levy’s safe.

Incoming

Jonathan Tah £40m £65k week
Wan Bisaka £40m £40k week
Neves £45m £60k week
Brooks/Maddison/Grealish £35m £60k wk
Sargent £30m £30k week

Total spend
£190m
£255k weekly wages

Outgoing

Toby £25m 60k week
Trips £45m £60 week
Erickson £110m £100 week
Jansen £10m £50k week
Wanyama £20m £50k week

Total received
£210m
£320k week wages

Way to cheap, your tighter than Levy 😂😂⚽👍🏾

According to the Mirror Grealish has a 60 mill buyout clause in the 70k a week contract he signed last summer

Grealish

When someone like Grealish is out of your price range you know there are tricky times ahead

No, when you call yourself a big club and don't buy players you know tricky times will occur.

Grealish is good, might get better but is not worth that amount.

But as ever we took too long to do our business so we lose out.

Mind you so does Grealish because that's him fcuked unless Villa go up.

There are probably 10 posters (maybe more) who consistently said last summer and again in the winter that we needed to sign new players.

Some of that ten put forward reasons such as squad refreshing, impact of world cup and to keep players challenged.

As ever all manner of argument was put forward why that was ridiculous, not needed and beyond budget.

Well I don't think there can be many who don't see how the lack of action then has not partially led to our predicament as we stand now.

Of course a possible top 4 position and a Champions League final are still possibilities but is the former not a matter of just not investing in the club in a reasonable and sensible way? Is it right that we must push our players to beyond their limits? Why is that a club of our size and so called ambition appear so arrogant?

7 long nearly unbearable days ahead in football terms because life in general is much more important.

But in the football world that engulfs our life for however many hours each of us choose to let it in, I feel beaten up this season.

I don't give a fig about other clubs. I feel we have regressed and if we lose a top 4 place next weekend and bow out ingloriously on Wednesday I think change of some significance will have to happen.

Transfers? No idea because the club give the impression of having no idea

But Leicester, Wolves, Everton and even West Ham will get closer to us than we think if not surpass us on our current trajectory.

don't matter what we say its what Levy thinks that matters, If we manage to hold on to the top 4 Levy 's position in not buying anyone is vindicated (look we didn't need players) if we don't get top 4 how much will Levy spend with us in EL & who would come here ? I feel if we make top 4 a lot of players here will think why bother staying here the club have no ambition

If they don't want to stay - they can fuck off.

Your contributions to this forum are pathetic, you're also a complete fucking spanner.

We are in the Champions League Semi Final with a chance to reach the final. Aye we have completely regressed as a club by breaking records for the furthest we have ever gone in the competition. YOU'RE AN EMBARASSMENT.
