Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

There are a few very good defenders out of contract. If you don't like Cahill, Godin has not signed a new contract.
Not a bad idea. Would love godin but probably wants a big wage. Be worth looking in to a list of players out of contract.
I Still think Mata would be a good shout if he would come to us. Very experienced & likable guy.
Porto's captain Herrera seems to be highly rated & is going on a free. Maybe bentaleb can say how good he is?
Some fairly well known players out of contract like luiz, giroud, Herrera(united), rabiot, Milner, Valencia, monreal, Carroll, sturridge etc.

I don’t think I would want any of those to be honest, except Milner. He would be handy.

It is not a substitute for investment, but maybe a realistic way of adding to signings.

Just a general question about the transfer window, as it may well have an impact on what we end up doing...

Every year there seems to be a position that is a hot commodity for the top clubs (last year, for example, saw big goalkeeping signings) and the market rate for said position shoots up.

Any idea what it may be this year? Given CM and RB are probably our most important area of improvement, are either of those going to end up being a headache to sort out, or can we go under the radar?

It seems to have been pretty much acknowledged now that Trippier is going to Napoli.

Sissoko has certainly boosted his market value; and we would likely get a good chuck of our 30m back. Whilst selling him would seem silly on his form; he is 30 years old this summer and now would be the time to cash in and get our number 1 in that position for the next few years (N'Dombele??)

Right, is anybody up for a bit of Alexis Sanchez in a straight swap for Toby Alderweireld?.....We better be because it’s happening, and in all honesty that won’t be a bad bit of business!!
Sanchez won't give up his wage, which is why United can't shift him in the first place. And we won't pay it, so it's a non-starter. And swapping him for a player they could purchase for £25M would be horrible business by United, as Sanchez is worth considerably more on the market - if he'd agree to terms with another club, which he won't because, again, no one this side of Madrid is paying him that wage.

I’m hearing his wages are based on Utd achieving XY & Z and tied to utds sponsors as image rights, they are about to change some sponsors and those wages are set to drop substantially this summer as he’s at the half way point of his contract, Olly is confident of shipping him out this summer, which he will do without even a transfer fee if need be...

We’ve got away with it this year. Credit to the lads for pulling it off after injuries galore, but an overhaul is needed massively.

Deadwood needs to be gone, players who aren’t good enough and any passengers.

Likes of Onomah, GKN, Janssen, Llorente and CCV have to go. Might not make a lot but it’ll free up wages.

Trippier, Aurier, Wanyama, Dier and Lamela are all on the line of not being good enough. If an offer comes that’s good I wouldn’t be surprised to see any of them go. Only Dier would remain I think due to having multiple positions and an injury plagued season.

Now we’ve qualified (albeit not quite mathematically) I reckon Eriksen will stay and Toby will as well.

Would love to see us go in proper this window and send a statement.

Wan Bissaka, Grealish, Tielemans, Brandt and Zaha would be the the dream.

I think 4 out of the 5 are realistic, with only AWB going elsewhere. Atal at Nice or Pierria at Leicester would be good options.
Problem is that looks like up to 10 out and 5 in, with a squad that is already short. That would be a football suicide window.
We need to keep players and sign new blood, but not wholesale as you are suggesting. Trippier won't go, nor Dier and probably not Aurier or Lamela. The first 5 you mentioned are no brainers , but to bring in replacement for the others and quality additions - talking huge money there.
