Everton fans seem to be a bit pissed off that he may go to Spurs over them and that they should just pay up and sign him permanently, so he must have had a decent season.

£26,000,000 is a steal in this market though. Especially when it'll likely be a fixed price of £10/£16,000,000 and a further £10/£16,000,000 in instalments.

Everything agreed with Spurs and his agent and it's down to Barcelona to accept now.

This and news that Daniel James is likely on his way to United?

Also seen some Evertonians that are accepting it. Basically saying that it sucks but it is more important for them to get Zouma on a permanent deal.

One thing we've lacked is genuine depth to compete in all four competitions so for £25m-£26m I think it's a great deal to be had.

If we have to juggle our funds so we can invest larger quantities elsewhere, I'm all for a deal like this, or one involving Ziyech or Brandt for the reported buyout clauses of £25m.

Whenever I've sat down and watched Everton this season he's always caught my eye. I'm happy for give him a go for that kind of money. A good deal to be had IMO

To be fair, I do understand how balancing the finances this summer is key, and a bargain in one place could open up a big splash in another.

However, I'm just hoping Gomes is a guy brought into central midfield, but not the guy. If the rumoured potential departure of, say Wanyama (or Dier) materialises then we'll be bringing in more than one central midfielder anyway.

We need depth in midfield with more than just one player. It's really unfair to rely on Sissoko & Wanyama like we've had to this season for different circumstances and Dier + Winks seem to get so many injuries. Better to be safe and have more bodies in here as I think the shallowness in this position has harmed Eriksen & Dele's form with them needing to drop back and help.

Gomes & Ndombele would be great but I agree, Gomes comes in as a player not the player if we want to evolve as a club.
