Negatives
6. From what I've seen he's a tempo setter, he is not a press breaker either via dribbling or passing (something I would much rather us find). In fact, this signing has the potential to block Skipp's route. I'd rather play Skipp.
7.
8. known for incisive passing
how sure are you of this? When I saw him I didn't see him as a tempo setter but an expansive passer - a more mobile Thudd. Admitedly only seen him a few times

Onto passing and it’s almost a clean sweep for the Spurs man in that regard. As already mentioned he leads Gomes for assists and key passes per game. He also averages more passes per game, 45.8 compared to 44.2 and has a better overall passing accuracy. He also posts more crosses per game.

Gomes leads when it comes to long balls per game, 3.5 compared to 1.4, and the pair on level when it comes to through balls, with neither player registering one so far.

Gomes had a classic 'first season' in the EPL ... started his season well in late October, then the cold weather set in.

His first really poor game was against us when he was dragged off early in the second half ... his form dipped and he didn't play much end Feb early March ... a combination of no winter break and cold weather did for him ... however once rested he was going well again until his three game ban for stamping on a Fulham player. If he plays on Sunday it will be his first game for three weeks.

For a player who's whole career to date has been in sunny Southern Europe the first season in a cold, wet EPL plus no winter break would have been a huge shock to the system ... but now he's been there done that so just maybe his second season, as a Spurs player, will see his very obvious talent coming through ...

One final thought, this lad is a winner, won the treble with Benfica, League and Cup with Barca, and both the U19 European Championship, and the European Championship with Portugal ... for 30m what's not to like?
What fucking treble are you talking about with benfica you cocksucker? A treble must include an European trophy. And those horrendous ugly fat cunts didn’t win a single thing in Europe since the 60s. Why must you disrespect me like this?
Benfica wining a fucking treble... this fucking guy

Not sure how I feel about Gomes. 1 goal, 1 assist this year. I'd prefer him to be a plan C

He's not an AM, he plays central midfield as a workhorse, gets around the middle of the pitch playing short quick passes, good at fast transition, he's good in the air but not a great defender on the ground, he'd slot into the Eriksen position behind the front three but is a very different player ... Poch might like him because he's a worker with skill ....

Think if Gomes sign he will probably rotate with Winks. Our midfield, now, has only one guaranteed spot and that's Sissoko, Gomes will give us some depth that is needed, but we still will need another midfielder, Berge or Ndolbele probably the ideal ones.

We'll need to substitute Eriksen and Alderweireld too, at least and AM and a CB. Plus, a striker and another midfielder are needed. I would go with Brandt and Andersen to sub Christian and Toby, plus Berge or Dembele, and Mounas Dabbur to cover Kane.

Think Gomes is for rotating with Winksie, which is a good thing. Grealish and Sessegnon too and that wouldn't be bad. Maybe a mystery signing and perhaps another defender and we'll see what happens. I fear we may lose Toby, Danny and Christian this summer, so replacing those is going to be painful.
