He was certainly better than de Jong over the two legs and everyone wanks over him!
He's a good player - would spend up to £35,000,000 on him in all honesty. He's better than Andre Gomes.
It is a shite league but in all comps, he has 16 goals and 12 assists in 55 games. From central midfield. That's rather impressive.
I think he setup both of the big chances against us in the second. Depends on cost, but I think he can be got for 40m.
Definitely something about him, was impressed over the 2 legs.
Conveniently his brother (who he works with) is only banned for two months so can conclude any deals before the transfer window shuts ... it's just click-bait headlines ... deals will still get done

Yes he looks a very good player but I think when buying from the Dutch you have to set the bar very high and they need to look outstanding if you're going to pay big money. Look at that donut Everton bought whose name I can't even remember, ended up being farmed out to the Bundersliga.

I get the depth spin on Gomez and that is a good price for basically anyone in this market, but not sold on him being a part of our future. Something about a player saying they don't love the game makes me question their motives. No doubt his talent, but I would rather go after Grealish, Diawara, and N'Dombele. The most like for like of those three to Gomez is N'Dombele.
I know that is a lot of skrilla on three mids, but this could be subsidized through the sale of Dier and Wanyama.

initially when I saw Gomes play for Everton I was veryyyyyyyy impressed. Then they had a blip in form where he also looked poor and then he looked decent again.
I'm of the opinion that he is definitely the type of midfielder we need in that he is a good creator and brilliant footwork in which he kinda glides past players. He would be competing with Winksy for a starting position.
We still need a DM/destroyer though.

Obviously I'm not saying all, just that we don't need to drop down from top tier targets (as making a statement would hopefully lead to a stronger naming rights deal, now the sponsor will see that NFL and Rugby events are already scheduled, we need Joshua and an Adele concert or 3).

Of Gomes if replacing Wanyama then it's a good deal it's simple. If it's true we need another couple additions assuming Eriksen and Toby stay a CAM another CM/CDM RB and a pacy backup striker
