Yeah, but if you've sold someone for iirc 15m euros, who's then re-sold for for 100m+ euros within 12 months, I'm not sure how much Levy style laughing, there's to be had. Someone shit the bed at Rennes. Not even as if he was some great secret either.

Someone moving from the Bosnian league to a middling team in a top and then killing it, proving their stuff at a higher level could see that inflation, but from the French to the German league, I'd say the :levylol:belongs to Dortmund.
Still, Stade Rennes received 41,2 million for a player that played 8 months for them

First, that's a loaded question. Who measures success, and by what metrics?

Also, I've not argued that any of them, much less Llorente, have been successful.

There are other ways to help a team that don't show up on the pitch. Leadership, professionalism, work-ethic, accountability, setting standards for behavior. There are world-class players who can tear a club apart with their attitude and there are players whose style is not a good fit, but who can still positively impact a club. And when a change in style is called for, they can fill that role too.

Coaches need to be able to adapt to the talent they have, and the team they are facing. In that sense, the fact that he brings something to the table that goes against what we typically do, I think means he does belong on the team (or at least a player with his traits) as an alternative way to approach the game. Not the preferred way (not the only other way), but an alternative one.

The question on whether or not he's been a successful signing can't be answered solely by what we see on the pitch.

Was the whole thing confusing or just something specific?
Gotta he honest, I just love that gif. You made some good points.

It’s hard to judge what a successful signing is. Would you class Trippier as successful? He’s been horrid this season but we’ve qualified for the UCL 4 years in a row with him in the team. Llorente has got us to a UCL final but done jack shit in the league for us.

Since 2012. English buys have easily been the most successful

But it would be nice if you applied the same graciousness to my posts as you do his.
Absolutely. That's my bad. It's just that I get triggered with certain words signifying absolutes and shut down discussions. In my defense I have become accustomed to deciphering Five Five inanities so it's kinda old hat. And if I extend your point I should be kicking the shit outta Five for spewing them and making others have to decode them. I shall get on that post haste.

Suck it Five Five :avbfu:

We changed tactics, it was largely in part to Llorente being on the field, and it was effective. I don't like "caveman football", but I hate losing.

Yes, agreed on the first. However, I'm all in on route 1 for the final. Hence the avatar. We goin proper #BrexitBallforbigears. klopp won't know what hit'em just like Wembley last year; they come, we bomb long, long, long fecking ball. Let's make it the ugliest game ever and walk away with champagne in our eyes.

And back at ya,
