Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I'm talking about the first leg, I really don't see the substance in watching them outplay us, beat us at our place.

Well then that's just conveniently selective of you then isn't it, because it ignores the potential impact FL could and indeed DID have on a cup tie (and maybe points rather poigniently towards why playing FL in the first leg wasn't a bad idea!). Even then, in the first leg our best pressure came from the same direct play that prevailed in the 2nd leg.... FL was an essential catalyst for that... Their defense crumbled in the 2nd half of both games.

If you're actually implying that playing FL in the first leg was wrong but right in the 2nd... Well, that's peak BOGUS. Pure and simple and entirely dependent on hindsight t'boot.

I didn't jump on the internet I was on here all that night, I actually said we weren't playing as bad as some were saying at HT. And then afterwards said we lack a bit of brains and composure at times, but this team has always had bollocks under Poch.

I'm really not sure why that put a bug so far up your arse.

Not a spark of joy expressed (until you'd got your 'business' out of the way).... A brief "Yay" post came about 4 BC-posts after the final whistle. Evidently your armchair punditry is more important to you than the ecstasy of reaching the CL final against all odds & doubters.

The fact that weeks later you're still banging the same drum; disparaging such a momentus occasion only emphasises my point.

Besides, I didn't persue this line of attack... I started asking about Llorente yet look where your pre-occupations have led us (me)... To the same conclusions.

I don't expect to change you, but I can't help but mock it.

The Sun making 2+2=5 again ... we are still very interested in Zaha, and he wants a move. But Poch (and no doubt DL) are just not interested in paying 100m (no idea who made that number up) for a 26 year old who will add to the squad but is no Messi. We were and still are interested at 50m, as are Woolwich and probably a few more, but 100m? Nope ....

I wouldn’t have started Llorente in second game either, and again we found ourselves 2-0 down. And as I said above, I don’t really think he was pivotal in the outcome, I just acknowledged he did what he does that night.

You were so ecstatic your first reaction was to jump on the internet and get pissy with me for not celebrating according to the Airfix handbook proper fan protocol.

I don’t expect to change you, but I can’t help but mock it.

The sooner you start taking me less seriously than I do, the better for both of us.

The funny thing is that I'd genuinely take you as more ITK than Hercules at this point (though please don't take that as an endorsement)

Ever thought about scamming SpursCommunity?

Except that's a lie, isn't it... Naughty Blakey.

So BC is in fact a satirical creation of your own imagination? .....And your essays, player ratings etc. are just for laughs?

Right you are..... :pochshock:

I reckon youe numbers are significantly better than his. One PL goal all season. Makes me want to rub one out.

EPL gametime isn't exactly the majority of his season.

Played / Mins / Goals / Asst. / YEL / RED / SpG PS% Arials won / MOTM / RATING

Total / Average3491285201.363.33.106.58

More than 1 x goal contribution per 90m

It's the majority of our season though, innit? And he don't find heself called upon too much cos he no fucking use.

Only good enough for later stages of the CL... Is that your point?

You don't have to like him, but it's a bit bloody minded to deny him his fair dues.
I feel like I am trapped in an elevator with you. All I want to do is sleep.

He's good enough for beating Tranmere. Did he score any match-winning goals for us in the CL?

Fuck off to bed then you div. :)

....Don't act like you're doing any of this under duress.

Isn't it better if you don't post any further questions if you'd rather not discuss the matter?

Strange boy.

Even 50m is ridiculous. Look at recent transfers costing less than 50m - Mane, Salah, Bernardo Silva, Maddison, Lucas Moura,. Heck Shaquiri, Deulofeu, Jota cost less than 15m.

Is Zaha an improvement over Alli, Moura or Son? We aren't spending 50m on a 'backup' or 'plan b'.

The position we need to spend the big $$ on is a Dembele (and indeed Eriksen if he leaves) replacement. Somebody who will dictate play, bring the ball forward and lead the team. By all accounts N'Dombele is the player we are in for.
