That's where their argument always falls down. Spending money is a waste of time but city, Liverpool etc only won trophies because they spent lots of money.

Not at all. Already been addresssed in fact..

Envy of WH doesn't amount to the same thing as £70m per player signings a la Liverpools title challenge.

Do we really want a player here who only stayed as a bigger club didn’t come in for him? It’s like when the club is about to close and all that’s left are the fat chicks and you decide it’s better than going to bed alone, but your hearts not really in it and your just fucking away thinking about the sexy chicks that left earlier with the rich guys.......
I get your point. But he is a very good player & when we go 18months without signing anyone, we aren't in a position to discard 1 of our best players so easily.
Also if we are honest, most of our players would leave for a bigger club if they could. They just have kept it to themselves.

I don't get offended by language, the term cunt is a general slur, it's not something with a history behind it (as far as I am aware.)

The term retarded is literally used as a slur towards disabled people, you wouldn't use the N word to insult people either, both could be considered just "words" but their significance in history when that history involves discrimination is the differentiating factor here mate.

And no, I am not some social justice type thats offended by everything, I just believe that you shouldn't say things online to people that you wouldn't say to them in person.

Like you know, telling people to kill themselves or using language that would be considered hate speech under law.

You're getting hysterical now... Go have a lie down you silly man.

I understand the point you are making and its validity but these two terms and their respective etymological and social histories are nothing alike.

I can't see anything concrete happening regarding Lo Celso until after Argentina get knocked out of the Copa America so until then it's a waste of time crying about not signing him

Ndombele is different. He is free of football responsibilities now so we could push on and get the deal over the line asap

If Poch really wants these two then I don't see any financial reasons why we cannot sign them this summer. The money must be there even without having to sell anyone first.

The Sessegnon and Clarke links are interesting

Wonder if we’re thinking Poch wants 4-3-3 but Poch really wants to go back to the 3-4-2-1

We were very successful using that formation. 3 at the back fits Sanchez, Foyth and Dier more than 4 at the back does.

Safe in the knowledge that spending big wasn’t the answer

It can be if done right though. Liverpool have holes in their team, they spend big to get the very best players to fix those holes and they are far better. City no need to say anything.

Modern football requires two main things to be successful generally, a plan (top manager and board with a clear vision) and a lot of money to get the players capable of carrying out the plan.

City and Liverpool have both, we have a plan but not the money until now perhaps, United have the money but no plan. It’s not always instant but spend £100 mil net a season for a few years with a top manager and your chances of success will increase significantly.

My acknowledging he was correct about something doesn't equate to a wholesale "cosigning" of all his posts and comments.
Can you show anyone that said it did? Surely, I did not. But it was already misconstrued so it may again be in the future. I again take notice that you haven't take the opportunity to publicly, knowingly condemn the statements that you didn't "knowingly condone" previously.

...Besides, like i noted, where was my 'cavalry'? (If indeed universal standards are genuinely what are in question here).
So if you suggest a cavalry was necessary for your mistreatment surely then you understand how out-of-line such statements are. I can't imagine a more perfect opportunity to condemn CG and his specific words here. Can you?

If as I think Sessegnon is a left back then the club won't sign him when we have Rose and Davies unless one of them is leaving.
To sign a midfielder, right back and a striker are priorities. May be a goalie too.

You're getting hysterical now... Go have a lie down you silly man.

Do you care to tell me what was "hysterical" about my post?

Was it me saying the word retarded is ableist and offensive to disabled people?

Or was it me saying the N word is racist?

Or was it me saying that telling other people to "kill themselves" is wrong?

Not sure what you consider "hysterical" about my post but by all means, keep on digging that hole you're making for yourself.

I am sure you will say I am playing the "victim card" as you put it before because you know, highlighting shit behaviour means that I must immediately be playing the victim doesn't it?

We may well still have financial restrictions in place, who really knows.
In my opinion I think the reason Levy kept player spending as low as it was over the past 2 years was him planning ahead to now, he didn’t want to go into the new stadium without a pot to piss in, and PR wise that makes good business sense.

He has already showcased this new stadium to the world media and by all accounts the footballing world has given it 10/10.
Now the big companies should be gunning for naming rights, and that means big cheques. Even so I don’t think those cheques will be splashed foolishly on player after player, those will be used to cover the operating costs and unforeseen extras that may appear, Levy is no fool......
What is does do however is allow investment in the squad, a combination of two years of non foolish spending coupled with two years of very profitable seasons, he did say after all the stadium wouldn’t affect on the pitch investment, and this might be his way of making sure that happened.
I certainly dont expect us to go all Man City here, but I do expect us to invest enough not only to stay within the top 4, which is more critical now than ever, but to close the gap at the top, and with a bit of luck you just never know......
Levy is smart enough to know this top class stadium requires a top class team, and he will deliver that team, maybe not in one season, maybe not even in two, but he will build it eventually.....
I’m going to confidently say there will be a Premier league title with in 3 seasons....
