Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Well we got this today at least:

"It's a great team, a great club," Ndombele told Telefoot when asked about Tottenham.

"They finished fourth in their league and went to the final of the Champions League.

"Which player wouldn't be interested by a big club?"

It sounds nice, but there's no way to be sure that Ndombele isn't wooed by other "great teams" or "great clubs". Still worried until Levy gets this one over the line.

The goat is the board’s...... foul mouthed obnoxious bully ..., that everyone that gets it knows he really isn’t ...... it’s been so long running that no one takes it seriously and has become ironic

I mean by his own admission he gets bashed up by women and laments his humiliation to a good west life ballad

And if it’s the foul language that offends you rather than the supposed belligerent intent then there are less hostile boards for those of more acute sensibilities
The forum decided to have a forum toilet for that kind of stuff.

Yeh but still we did get to a CL final, hard to get their without being a ‘big club’, we have the stadium and the manager and a good squad.

We need to big ourselves up, these potential players are coming to Tottenham Hotspur, the best stadium/training ground on planet earth with a big future not Tottenham Hotspur the team from the 90’s stuck in mid table.

We can all interpret Pochs talk of being a big club and thinking like one but for me it implies not just Levy/Enic and their ambition in the transfer market but also the fans, we are not a little plucky team anymore. The 90’s is over just like the 60’s is long gone.

First game in attendance was 89/90 so a bit before my time; although I do find many aspects of 'modern' football to be a
So you don't remember the 76/77 season in the 2nd division. I remember attendance dropping alarmingly and those of us with season tickets thought the club was a done deal. What do you think the present supporters would have made of that season?

Not sure what's funny about that, you and GOAT GOAT cut from the same cloth clearly, you seem to think it's fine for him to tell me to kill myself over an opinion on football.

Good job on that btw.

He's a guy on the internet you never have to meet. Why you so bent out of shape? If he said it to me I'd laugh and move on. It obviously touched a nerve with you so put him on ignore and forget about it.

For what it's worth, I think this sums up GOAT GOAT perfectly:

The goat is the board’s...... foul mouthed obnoxious bully ..., that everyone that gets it knows he really isn’t ...... it’s been so long running that no one takes it seriously and has become ironic

I get it. You think he was out of line. That's fair enough. Move on now eh? Get back on to the transfer subject...your posts about that are riveting!

People also said we were better than Liverpool & Chelsea & would finish above them.

Well, call me delusional, but I still think we’re better than Liverpool. Yeah, I know we lost and I know they finished higher than us. But the truth is, they had everything go as well as it could for them this season and we had almost everything that could go wrong, actually go wrong. We had all our main players out or injured, which was the same crew recovering from the World Cup. We had the stadium saga, which caused problem after problem after problem in the first half of the season in particular.

We’ll see what happens this year, but I think things will be closer between us and Liverpool/City. They revert to the mean, we get some things sorted and the gulf is nowhere as large as it looked this last year.

And as far as Chelsea, well I’ll just laugh. I mean come on. Unless they recall a whack of loans and get them to gel under some caretaker manager, that’s got mid table written all over it.

Not at all. I admire your faith & optimism. 20 pts is a big gap though. We would do amazing to finish ahead of either city or Liverpool. Liverpool did get a lot of luck but not 20 pts worth. We will need to spend a lot to bridge that gap.
I Don't think there much in it between us & Chelsea but now hazard has gone we should finish ahead of them. But they still have some good players. I disagree they will finish mid table though. They still should finish top 6.
