Transfers Summer 2019 transfer thread

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Poch is the best thing that happen for this club for years and look how Levy is treating him instead of backing him

I'm not a Levy apologist by any stretch of the imagination but just look at how far with come under his tenure. I agree that not backing Poch shows a lack of ambition, but calling the club a joke and for Levy's head is just moronic considering. Again just ask Bolton or Blackpool fans how bad their chairmen are/were.

Plus, I hate to point the obvious. No one knows what's going on behind the scenes regarding transfers apart from those involved. So keep your dick in your pants and don't blow your load just yet.

It depends on your definition of how far.
Before Poch we featured in the Champions League once.
Who really got us this far? Poch. Not Levy.

Poch has only gotten us this far due to a ground work that Levy has given him. It's not Poch that has built this club into a CL regular alone.

This is not to understate or underrate Poch in any way. But it is not by his grace alone that we are where we are. He was recruited by the club because they saw him as the best possible manager to carry us through the final stages of the stadium build and he has been given steady backing by the club and board in the process.

Its high time we racked up with couple of Rib eyes on the hickory charcoal brothers.
Poch aint going to stick around if he's eating skinny .
Love the dude make him happy , not morphing into a self imploding Mourinho dirtbag.

I get the impression that if this transfer window ends the way it does and results turn bad some of our supporters would turn on Poch in an instant and wouldn't for one second point any fingers at Levy.

That's incredibly sad to see imo, maybe Levy should become manager, maybe then he would actually get some of the criticism go his way for once.

It's called being negative it certainly isn't called support ....

Being a Spurs fan your whole life is part of being in a weird disturbing cult, we're the Yid Army, I for one am proud to be part of that mad, bad, crazy bunch of bastards .... many of my longest friendships revolve around the "cult" that is Tottenham Hotspur ... wouldn't want it any other way ... until you've cheered on Rasiak, Dalmat, Thatcher Rebrov, Tramezzani, Stambouli, Lacy, O'Reilly, Young and a whole load more who deep down you knew were garbage, you simply haven't lived ..

By comparison today's squad are brilliant, as good as we've ever had ... we have not just hope, there's always been that, but now we have a real chance of actually winning stuff ...

You just simply don't get that ... and sadly for you, you probably never will ....
Whilst I understand what you're saying, and couldn't agree more that the current squad are on another level completely, please spare us the sanctimonious "I've been around through the baron years, so I'm a better fan than you" bullshit.

We're ALL yids, we ALL support the team and want to see us do well - some of us can't help it if we weren't alive to watch Spurs struggle in the 90's or, as was in my case, simply couldn't have given two shits about football until one day at the Lane completely changed my life.

As it stands, this squad and manager are tangibly close to doing something very special (I would argue they already have, but some silverware to show for it would obviously be the icing on the cake) - for some on here, rightly or wrongly, I suspect it's that frustration of "so close, yet so far" that pushes them over the edge.

Just put him on ignore if he pisses you off that much - it's the transfer forum; he's voicing his incredibly naive and simple-minded opinion about our transfer policy, which we're all entitled to do (over and over, and over again).

Everyone knows he's a stuck record, so why not just skip the track and get on with your day.

"Sceptical posters aren't as much fans as those that aren't" ✔
"Sceptical posters are probably Arsen*l/City etc. fans" ✔
"Sceptical posters think we should sign just anybody" ✔
"Sceptical posters don't care if we break the bank" ✔
"Sceptical posters want us to do a Fulham/Leeds etc." ✔
"Sceptical posters should have more faith in our youth players" ✔
"Remember where we were 10 years ago" ✔
"The stadium debt means we can't buy players" ✔
"When Pochettino says X he really means Y"✔
"Chill, Levy's got this" ✔
"It isn't like Football Manager you know"
"FFP" ✔
"Fuck off, you don't understand football" ✔

etc, etc.

All arguments that were repeatedly trotted out last sumer and again in January. All arguments that have been repeated over and over again this summer. And yet somehow it's only the sceptical posters who are tedious, who drone on, who are spoiling the board and so on.
