Something to close this chapter of the Transfer Window - over 42,000 posts, 2 million views, this is the end...

From the film Levypocalypse Now.

So you’ve changed your stance from last year?
Last year we didn't sign a single player. So anything had to be an improvement on that didn't it.
Doesn't mean I'm dancing in the streets with joy and proclaiming we won the transfer window this time around like many on here.
One big signing to replace Dembele, one loan signing, and a couple of young prospects for the future.
Last night people were pulling themselves off over Dybala, Fernandes, Coutinho and more.
Like I said. Middling window if we keep the 3 key players I mentioned earlier.

Yes, I do think he thinks that. Admittedly maybe that's because I do too - I think both those lads will turn out to be quality RBs.
I think you (and others) are wildly over-interpreting those comments, which were taken out of context.
Poch and Levy talk every day, often for hours in the evening, they both work 24/7 and as a close team - I just cannot understand how you could really think the manager has no input.
If he thought RB was a priority and identified an individual target then we would have gone after him.
Levy imo will buy who he can get for the price he is willing to pay. Do you really believe they are best mates and talk for hours on an evening ?
If that wax true then levy would surely of picked up that poch would prefer to work with his new signings in pre season so they were ready for the start of the season wouldn't he ? Aurier is no youngster and I doubt he will suddenly improve

A bit desperate though to keep refering to Lo Celso as 'a loan signing'.

If Lo Celso scores a hat trick and Sessengon gets three assists will it become a better window than 5/5?

Then if we lose the following week is it a middle window again?

What do you judge by? Clearly not money spent anymore if spending 150M more than Liverpool is average to meh

Mainly the kind of people who worry about breaking FFP or doing a Leeds/Portsmouth

Nah.... Just individuals that don't rate the player or thought he was not gonna address a specific need in the squad. There were some thoroughly un-enthused posts from people that thought he was a "busted flush of a player" and so forth.... Not everything has to revolve around this binary spending war you have in your head John.
