That’s not even close to the point I was making.By that logic, we should never make a signing again and just hope the players we have become better.
Might be looking at +/- £100m for both (with contracts until 2023 & 2024).Gatsby tip..
Leicester will miss out on UCL place this season. I reckon Pereira is available for the right price as well as Ndidi, but probably well out of our price range.
You mean Player of the season, the year before we bought him, Scott Parker?
Fair point, forgot about that. But if I remember correctly he wasn't even in the picture for England until right before we bought him, so it's not like he had an exceptional career leading up to that point.
Problem we have is, our owner and chairman are already tight on the budget compared to other teams of our stature, and now they have a global pandemic to compete with as well. That’s not even close to the point I was making.
The logic is that we already have plenty of squad depth of ‘good’ players. We should be aiming to buy players who are better than the ones that we already have. Otherwise how can we expect to improve. The exception being young prospects.
If money is as tight as some fear, I'd much rather we went 'big' at DM (eg Partey) and got creative in recruiting other areas rather than get a bunch of £15-20m prospects.
Pereira is out till November.Gatsby tip..

Whats the point of signing Hojbjerg when we have Winks? They both are the same type of player.
Winks is where Henderson was 3-4 years back. He's not a world class footballer, but he's a good player to have. If we had a proper DM then you'd probably see more from him. He can dictate play well, has a good passing range and sets the tempo with his pressure he applies.I love WInks as much as anyone, he's just not mobile enough for me. He doesn't really cover much pitch, and certainly doesn't help us win back possession too often. He can rotate with a legitimate DM, but shouldn't be our only choice.
Suyncu is the man we need thereGatsby tip..

We "went big" to fill the CM position last summer, and we see how that worked out. We have a club record dud on our hands.
(personally I think Tanguy will come good, just making the point)
If everyone in this circus tent of a message board knows we don't need a winger, surely the club does as well, right? Right?
Spurs legend in some delusional eyes because he could do kung fu and seemed like a good laugh.
Wasn't good enough to lace Scotty's boots when he arrived later. Did we ever get anyone worthwhile because of the Internacional 'link'?
Couldn't even get fucking Damiao signed when we were crying out for a striker, which may have been a blessing in disguise.
Errr....what?He would of been amazing had he not broke both his legs just before joining us. It really effected his career. Him and dembele in the middle of the park was fabulous. Just shows how our best teams always have a good powerful centre and have done for years.
Van der Vaart never got more than 7 goals in a season for Madrid.Vazquez wouldn't fill me with much hope. Never really caught my eye over the years, and no season with more than 4 league goals for Madrid is pretty lackluster.
