Also I think we could cough up the £40m, but there’s arguably two other places Mourinho would probably rather spend (striker, CB) before signing a player like Van de Beek.
Too weak of a option to be Kane understudy. Has no Premier League experience, played in a second division so far. Janssen type of signing. 3rd striker maybe?
If he is a Kane back-up, then easy PASS.
Pretty decent I'd say, but then almost all left/right backs here are what you'd call wing-backs in Britain. They're called laterales in Spanish as opposed to "backs", which gives you an idea of their role, they're expected to get up and down the wing

If Harry Kane is unavailable I confess I have a hard time seeing Josh King leading the line as a lone striker in this team.
Especially before Ndombele has gone anywhere, and especially with United coming in. We can't get in a financial pissing match with them, this summer in particular.
There are also the curious quotes from Mourinho during the All or Nothing launch that he was learning Korean 'to be able to talk to Sonny in his native language'.
Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like, but that seems a little random considering korean is so different to European languages and Son's English and German are already very good. Makes a lot more sense to me that he is getting ready for Kim Min Jae.

I doubt it I think this is more agent Negotiation work more than a true reflection of what’s going on. He’s going utd done deal. It’s not a major thing because a midfield of Pogba, Fernandez and VDB has no defensive minded midfielder which offers a major advantage to the opposition. He’s a decent player nothing more at present but he could be a good player if he develops the potential he has. Under Ole will this happen?! Hhhmmm I’m not too sure!
