IF, big if, we loan out Skipp, it needs to be because we have better players in the squad and he won't get game time.

As it stands, he should be miles ahead of those 2, if he's not to me it suggests that either Nuno feels he has to play those 2 ahead of him, pecking order, or more worryingly perhaps that he actually rates them higher somehow.

There is absolutely no logical reason why come September he should be out on loan if either or both of those two are still hanging around. You mention player progression but as far as I'm concerned if our squad is still occupied by the likes of Sissoko/Winks then he should be getting plenty of minutes here to develop.

This obviously is based on the supposition that if they're still loitering then we won't have bought in better midfielders as it wouldn't be financially prudent to be stockpiling.

I really just can't see any potential scenario where loaning out Skipp at this stage makes any sense for any party.
Loaning Skipp out would be madness - he seems quality and should be starting

Winks/Sissoko should be flushed asap

I'd have had no beef with us signing Ings, but the point is there's plenty here that have a violent aversion to the word cheap.

Regardless of Kane; I'm confident we'll see more incoming players.

Seizing on the slightest opportunity to say 'ooh look at X' is all a bit thin....

Chavs: Still no Kounde, Haaland = fail, Lukaku still in progress.
United: Varane still pending.

Etc.
They will sign kounde and Lukaku though. Regardless, they are CL winners and massively improved under a decent coach.

we are catpiss, desperate and a falling knife

Damsgaard is another winger who prefers LW so this makes no sense.
I think he's a creative attacking midfieder who was often played in a somewhat unsuitable LW role at Sampdoria. More of a David Silva/Eriksen type. The role Dele played for us yesterday, Damsgaard would be good at this. Striker should be wrapped up before this but he'd be a good signing. Likely just paper talk.

Okay that sounds more positive.
But don’t we have GLC and Ndombele for that role already?

Say we play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. You then have Hojbjerg, Skipp, Gio, Ndom, Damsgaard and Alli to rotate in those three midfield spots. Gio and Ndombele need replacing almost every game, Dele has suspect performance levels, but at least he can play in more attacking roles etc. (as can Damsgaard). Ideally one of Gio/Ndombele will really find their feet this year as a deeper midfield playmaker beside Hojbjerg. Realistically we're in for a middling season, hopefully finish closeish to the CL spots, may as well bring in young alent and aim to be competitive again in a year or two.
