Agree with this. I honestly don't understand anyone who suggests we sell any of our stars. I don't see any suitable replacements.

Dier + Sanchez + Foyth → Andersen + Milenkovic (cash neutral?)

Dele → Sabitzer (could Leipzig accept a player swap? Dele will do well in Bundesliga and Sabitzer contract running out in 2022. Perhaps we'll have to chuck in an extra £5-10M.)

Winks + Davies → Skipp + Sessegnon (Cash in via loan recalls)

Lloris → Areola

The above can all be achieved without any net spend imo. Just takes bravery from Levy.
After this, if we do have any money to actually spend, don't renew Vinicius and get Daka for approx £15-20M.

Igula Igula Thoughts?

I prefer someone younger than Sabitzer, ideally someone who we think will be Sabitzer, but I also realize we need guys who can play right now in our midfield as well.

I would like to add a young wing/AM like Olise as well to what you have listed.

I haven't watched enough Fiorentina to have an opinion on Milenkovic, I wasn't overly impressed last year but he gets good reviews, is still young and seems to play on the left so checks a lot of boxes.

I really like Andersen and Areola and hope it isn't just based on having seen them play well against us, although I did like Andersen prior to his Lyon move.

Andersen must have done at least 8 things in the game against Liverpool that had me holding onto the wall. I was also troubled by what I observed in his performances against us and City.

Both Anderson and Vesteguard in anything other than the deepest of bus park’s would be scary.

Pair of matching wardrobes.

I have no desire for Versteguard, but have thought Andersen has looked good for Andersen. Although I know he had a pretty poor year for Lyon last season so I wouldn't say he is anything close to top choice.

Well tonight's result doesn't change much.

We've made some bad signings over the last 5 years (was our last decent signing Son or Alderweireld ?) which is why we have a problem

Our problem was last season, and will be next summer that we need to move them on - and not that many clubs will want to take them on . Too many to move on is one season so start with, and 6 or 9 out is probably the most we can move on in one summer TW - which also has to include any with one a year left on their contracts. To start with a few bad signings :

Aurier (and one year left on contract, wanted out last 2 summers)
Sissoko
Sanchez
Lamela (only fit for a 1/3rd of games for 7 years)

Then some of the others :

Lloris (one year left on contract - so sign on or sell)
Doherty - Never looked anything like his brother at Wolves
Vinicius - One year loan, just never looked the quality needed
Dele/Winks - do they want out ?

If we can move on and replace most of those - great ! If we can't and need to move others on, Moura and Dier say Hi ! (for example).

Only good thing is we can start with 2 loanees back - Skipp and Sessegnon.

And probably only practical to bring in 4 - 6 players (for all sorts of reasons including identifying and persuading players to join, integrating them into Spurs and cash) so likely to be ? :

1 x GK
1 x RB
1 x CB
1 x RB/CB
1 x CM
1 x forward

and probably one or two or even three of them need to be HG

I'm sad more than angry that because of the pandemic we have one of the best managers of all time whose hands are tied because we can't get rid of players who are so err... "unsuitable" before we can buy more suitable.

We need a massive clearance in the summer. I don’t give a fuck how we gonna sell them, hire a hypnotizer if you have to and send him to European clubs boards. Alli, Winks, Sissoko, one of Aurier/Doherty, Lamela, Dier, Davies all need to go. Yes all of them, just fucking sell them. If for once Levy has the balls, he has to start the clean-out immediately. If we don’t have money to replace these players just bring through some youngsters.

I’m fucking tired of seeing liabilities like Sissoko year after year after year. He’s useless, like the rest of the cunts I put in there.

We need to clear out the hinted at bad apples like Sissoko, Aurier, Dele, Dier and Winks. No matter what manager we have next season the problems will just repeat themselves if these players end up falling out of favour with the new boss.

People are calling for Lucas, Lamela and Davies to go as well but I don't think that those 3 are part of the issues. Yes, they are not our best players. But they consistently work hard and show that they care. That will earn them good will with me. And I think that they are net positives in the locker room and thus can be replaced at a later stage in the rebuild. It is far more important to get rid of the negative elements. And I don't really care who they are replaced with. Could be kids from the academy or guys from the Championship or the Croatian league for all I care. As long as they are willing to work hard to improve themselves as players and thus us a club they will be welcome.

Depends by what you mean bad apples, I doubt Winks is some huge rebel in the dressing room undermining the manager, is he not good enough, maybe yes but that doesn’t mean he is causing problems. We may have a few trouble makers and we may need a solution to them similar to Poch and Kaboul.

Honestly with some I think it is worth it to take a loss or even pay to go away.

I can't imagine that Levy will do it but if it takes us covering half of Sissoko's wages, do it. If we only get half of what we paid for Doherty fine. If Winks doesn't get the ridiculous 40 million or whatever it was City was going to pay in that ridiculous rumour last year that made zero sense, oh well. Move these guys out.

Like you said bring in youngsters, whether from our set up, from Europe, from the Champo whatever. Bring in new players with energy to help refresh the squad. There are so many signs going back to the end of the Poch era that the team needs a massive refresh. Lets just do it and if we have to take some lumps take them. Better than this slow march of crap we have had for two years now.

Get rid of 2 or 3 to lesser clubs and the others will toe the line fairly quick.
As for winks his comment when jose was signed summed him up really

Tottenham’s Serge Aurier could return to PSG in a £10 million deal this summer after Mauricio Pochettino reportedly told the defender that he wants a reunion in Paris.

Aurier joined Spurs from the French champions in the summer of 2017 and worked under Poch in north London until the manager's sacking in November 2019.

According to FootMercato, the Argentinian boss wants to strengthen the right side of his defence for next season and told Aurier that he would like to sign him.

The outlet points out that the Ivory Coast international gave an interview last year to Canal + Afrique where he admitted: “If I can finish my career in Paris, it would be a pleasure”.
