This and also whatever ST you get to replace Kane its a downgrade on him ultimately.

The way Kane can just take every chance and the way he sets up other people etc..

Only Lewandoski is better or on the same level as him.
Sure - but if we buy a skilful DM who can pass, two forwards and obviously Romero and a RB then we should be in a far better position

Well, it all depends what was said between them. But surely we all agree that Levy won't ever have promised Kane that he can leave on the cheap - and given that Grealish looks like being about £100m, surely Kane must be about £200m. So if Levy is now saying to Kane "You're not leaving even for £200m" then yes he's a scumbag, but I very much doubt that's the case. Levy may have told Kane he could go this summer for a good fee, and if Kane believes that he is in the top 5 forwards in the world, then he must agree that fee should be somewhere near £200m, maybe £180m at the very least.

So if (and it is a big if) Kane is kicking off, then given what a great professional he has always been previously, then yes I really would be shocked and very disappointed.

In fairness to Kane, where is the win for him?
If he had the conversation with Levy last season what does he do?.
Does he work his arse off, win the golden boot and the highest assist record in the league ultimately making himself unbuyable, or does he sit on his hands, do fuck all and hurt his image, his legacy and his England squad chances?

He can't really win either way here.
And I don't buy into the theory he signed a 6 year deal so tough. A LOT has happened since he signed that deal and most of it has been bad.

He's paid 200k a week to play and train for Spurs.

If he wants to go on strike how about he pays the club 30k a day to cover his salary?

After reading this interview with Ten Hag, Dragon1 all of a sudden appears with his, well, errr... own ITK take on that case.. and then our very own Aly Gold claims that Ajax wants to replace Donyell Malen with Bergwijn... Well, thing is that Malen was sold by PSV (to Bor Dortmund) - so Ajax and Ten Hag must be very charitable and kind who wants break their budget to buy their main competitor (over many decades) a replacement

(PS! Malen played for Woolwich from 2015-17 but then they let him go.)

Ajax boss Erik ten Hag has reaffirmed his interest in signing Steven Bergwijn after he admitted that the Tottenham man fits the profile of what he is looking for in a forward.

Bergwijn has been linked to the Dutch champions, who are reportedly keen on bringing in the Spurs player to be the replacement for Donyell Malen.
Speaking to Voetbal International, via the Spurs web, ten Hag said: “I never go into names.
“But it is like ABC, if I explain the profile here, Bergwijn fits it.
“But I’m not going to go into that whether it’s even possible.”

This doesn't make any sense. Donyell Malen played for PSV... not Ajax. Horrible 'journalism'

Why doesn't the club comment?

Seems a bit odd we have a PR team and then moments like this and not a word.

They'd be commenting every day about the slightest Kane story otherwise and just look like a bunch of Twitter teenagers.

Both club and manager have made statements early in the window and will now remain quiet.

As much as it pains fans to be left guessing about stuff, it's the right way for the club to conduct themselves.

(Look at how pathetic WHam looked when Gold's son was playing DOF and reacting to everything on twitter every few days!)

Since Kane signed his 6 year deal in June 2018:
Failed to sign a single player in that and the next window.
Seen the Dybala debacle.
Seen his coach dragged down and ultimately sacked.
Seen Mourinho appointed and sacked.
Seen us turned down by Conte, Naigelsmann, Flick etc.
Seen a fucking nobody in Nuno appointed.

No fan should doubt his love of the club.
No fan should doubt he's stayed through good and bad times.
No fan should deny he's earned the right to go and win stuff even if you see it as "the easy way"
He's tried it the hard way and it hasn't happened

Thinking back to Kane's 100m figure in the Neville interview... maybe he had some insight that City would not be prepared to go much beyond this figure.

And maybe they suggested he try to force Spurs' hand. Strange tactic though as if they've forgotten it's Levy they're dealing with.

The point is that he should have signed a 3 year deal and retain all the power. He instead signed for 6. Stupid decision and entirely his fault.

It's not a media report. He hasn't shown up for training today, that's a fact.

Even club mouthpiece Gold has confirmed it.

They definitely need to come out with a statement today on this.

I saw on twitter they just posted about the Conference League playoff draw! Got to be trolling at this point.

The stance is "business as usual".....

(Ironically) In wrestling talk they call it 'not selling'.

(i.e. Not giving credence to something by reacting).

They didn't react to The Sun's bullshit wedding story and they won't be reacting to this......

A contract is pretty straight forward, You agree to play for so many years and you get £xm pa to play.

What's difficult to understand ?

No club EVER promises a player they will be successful.

Okay, so from what I understand, the following stuff has happened over the last 24 hours:

- We still haven't reached an agreement with Atalanta over Romero. How surprising.

- Apparently, we've opened talks with Wolves about Conor Coady. English player from PL club to another PL club. That is going to cost us at least €40m. Could be a leak to put pressure on Atalanta, of course.

- Kane has not showed up for training today. Seems like we're going to get a Berbatov situation if it's true he was expected at Hotspur Way today.

Btw, what happened to Jack Clarke? Is he dead? Is he never going to be part of the First Team?

I fucking hate supporting this club sometimes :levylol:

The club has also said it offered all players who went to Copa America or Euros finals 4 weeks hols rather than the mandatory 3 weeks.

There is ZERO reason for the club to comment on any single players actions (indeed most employers would never comment on a players actions).

Gold is not the club so has no status.

If I were at Spurs, I'd not comment unless I had something to say - and at present there is nothing to say.
