Fact is Levy is a dick and a liar.
If you asked me who I believe about this gentleman's agreement I'd say Kane every time.
Let's just add that Levy sacked a series winner the week before a cup final. If the agreement was "I'd like to leave if we win nothing" then sacking Mourinho and letting a child take over.

Levy's not just going to let anyone in our team we want to keep leave. Not Kane or anyone else. He's not a decent person on that level, he just thinks about the money not the person.
He's let Kane down. Now it's time to be a fucking man and sort this mess out before it gets really really ugly.

"He's not a decent person on that level, he just thinks about the money not the person"

When Harry signed his contract extension and huge salary increase that was ok then?

Now he apparently wants to move he wants his cake and eat it? How about Harry buys himself out the remainder of his contract or pays back the additional money that he has earned so far under his new contract?

Is Harry thinking about the money or the person?

Works both ways, Levy holds the contract not Harry, and i hope Levy tells him that unless City reach the fee he wants then they can go fuck themselves.

The club should come first, and for all of Levy's faults, (and he has many) being turned over by a petulant player isn't one of them.

And thank the Lord for that.

140 mill an laporte if true we should be all over that laporte on his own is worth about 70

120 mil and Laporte. Bleed them dry. Laporte and Romero, defence sorted for the next 4/5 years. Sign 2 quality strikers, then we are talking

This reminds me very much of player trading in the NBA / MLB where a team has to give up something they don't really want to in order to get who they really need to fill a position that they just don't have.

I am sure that deep down that Pep get's this, and in the US it's an acceptable occupational hazard.

However knowing Levy, he'd be looking for more than Laporte and 120 million. I can't see it being less than 160+

Why would he need to go lower, and especially knowing what City will likely have to go to for Grealish?

Bernado silva and laporte plus 100m for kane please. Levy will love the negotiations. Up until 4am discussing fee. Great. Amateurish and disrespecting us kane not turning up. He did wear an Woolwich shirt as a kid. Get rid.

Cant let kane saga drag on too long as will lower morale of players. Sell him after 1st game with city. Hope we do them. Kane can stay at home that game and pretend hes like messi and ronaldo like he said in amazon doc. Dream on Son!

That isn't credible at all.

Based on what? Do you think they hide contracts in glittery boxes and ask the player to pick one at random?
Or do you think they offer various different lengths of contract?
The length of the deal is for THFC benefit. It makes a player harder for opposition to sign.
As I stated elsewhere, when Kane signed that deal we all felt the club was on the cusp of greatness. We'd been the best team in the league over 2 seasons (yet failed to win anything!)
Ever since he signed it it's got worse and worse year after year. He's seen Walker, Vertongen, Dembele, Eriksen go. He's seen us slip from 2nd to 7th. That's not what he signed up to and it's not like he's the reason for it.

I can't imagine any Gentleman's agreement would knock 60mil off the value of a player and business.

I can imagine we agreed to sell him if the price is met, and we all agree 100million is not enough.

I wonder if him saying 100m in "that" interview was indicative of those talks with the club. Maybe the number was thrown around figuratively but he took it literally?
Maybe the bubble is about to burst for OTT transfers?
Levy will be trying to flog players for world record sums in the height of a global recession when no one else is spending. We know that.

Its written in the stars.
Harry goes to city, we meet them in the fa cup final and we win.
Harry left trophyless

Well, except for the League, league Cup and pending champions league yeah.

That 6 year deal served 2 purposes for Levy
1) The ensure the highest value for our biggest asset
2) To save the ordeal of selling him, infuriating the fans and then fucking up the purchase of his replacement

You may think part 3 is rewarding Kane for his effort but I bet deep down Levy was hating it. He definitely would have been mulling over whether he could sign an up and coming player and put them on £30k a week.

Players like Kane are in complete control of the length of contract they demand and sign. In no way was Kane forced to sign a 6 year contract. He chose to.

If the club had kicked on, and showed ambition, he wouldn’t be asking to leave.
