ManU squad are a shambles right now

So a player like Eriksen will potentially improve them no end - providing they have the players around to take advantage.

At Spurs I think he could not have been promised a regular 'first 11' position but a first 18' position, very regular playing time but maybe he's still hankering after the limelight.

Great shame as it would be good to see him back at Spurs and equally think it would be less pressure but still rewarding at Brentford. But not to be.
I think he'll go back to his gentle jogging around.
Just my two sour grapes worth.

Lenglet can play CCB, so I think that gives us the versatility to sign the best center back available next whether they are right or left footed. Both Bremer or Torres would be excellent. Bastoni and Gvaridol even better than that.

Have some of these Italian journos jumped the gun in announcing Lenglet as a done deal?

Still getting linked to a lot of left-footed Centre backs, could it be that Fab has just agreed a deal in principle but is just doing his usual lining up multiple transfers for one position before picking the best one?

I ain’t buying for a minute that Lenglet is being signed to compete with Dier rather than Davies. He’s nowhere near solid enough for that central role.

Paying Eriksen whatever insane sum they’re likely giving him makes no sense for United considering they have Fernandes, DVB, Mata, and are trying to spend 80m on De Jong. Shows their continued lack of direction.

Sounds to me like we heard the sums Eriksen wanted and decided it wasn’t worth it for a rotation option/impact sub, especially considering his age.

I didn't realise until earlier today, but Brentford were paying him 260kpw..........!!!!!

Yet he was being talked about like some kind of philanthropist!

Somehow I find that unbelievable but believable at the same time

He was on a short term 6 month contract so it wouldn't cost them much in the long run I guess.

Choice right now appears to be Torres (purchase) or Lenglet (on loam deal) or both.

If, say Bremer, became available I suspect Lenglet loan might not happen.

So I wonder if we needed to line up the Lenglet loan to say to one or two potential incoming CB's - time to make up your mind, come and join Spurs now or lose that opportunity. Just a thought of course

'only' £150k p/w, allegedly

I saw that quoted but in somewhat shady press.

From the The inside story of Eriksen to Brentford, the 'most complicated deal in football history'

Wage demands were not a problem – Eriksen has accepted a salary well within Brentford’s wage structure to get the deal done – so it was down to the club’s administrators to “make it work”.

The 2nd biggest fraud on SC tried to jump on the bandwagon on Friday, but looks very stupid now in light of the latest chat on Lenglet and Spence :contelol:

Who: Hotspur88
When: Today
Where: SC

Possibility of Lenglet also being announced today.

Spence as I've blatantly hinted at is very close and I believe there was a breakthrough yesterday.

Would expect both to be with us for the start of next week.

Only thing is a lot of the reports are saying Lenglet is already done.....

Works out at 6.25m for the half season.......

He kept them out of the relegation struggle so it more than paid for itself really.

Finished 13th = £17.6m prize-money

£11m would have been 16th..... (£2.2m per placing)

Crazy that the winners only get £2.2m more than 2nd.
