Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The Blues previously tried to sign Matthijs de Ligt, Presnel Kimpembe, Nathan Ake and Jules Kounde during the summer window, but deals fell through for various reasons.

As a result, the Premier League giants have turned their attention to Southampton's Walker-Peters, Brighton's Marc Cucurella and Inter Milan's Denzel Dumfries.

Missed out on 4 CBs, so going shopping for 3 FBs instead.......

Who the fuck writes this crap???? :contefacepalm2:

Airfixx Airfixx is right- everyone on the forum, me included, thought that Reguilon was a good signing.

He had just been the best LB in La Liga, and we beat United to his signature. Sadly he couldn't adapt well to the PL- that's a risk we always take with such transfers.

Yeap ..and theres another window directly after the world cup when most clubs will have done there lot in summer.

Not to mention next summer when I expect us to want 4 - 6 buys
- Lenglet (current loanee either bought or replaced by another CB),
- Kulusevski loan made permanent,
- possibly buy Lloris replacement,
- possibly buy 32 year old Moura permanent replacement
etc

Really not too difficult to see another phase to this TW even if we get an AM and CB later this window

I always said it will take two summer windows to get this team up there. Too much work to do.

We're building a team here fellas! Not an eleven that will never need rotation or have any injuries or knocks while playing 38 League games, at least 6+ CL games, and FA/League cups. Add another bunch of WC-games who comes in the middle of the season (which means the season will be squished into fewer weeks again) for half our players!

...And look at the tenacity of the best players we have added! Bissouma, Perisic, Richarlison: all known fighters, people who no doubt will push the rest the fuck on and give their all!

As for Forster, Llenglet, Spence I know fuck all.

Will be interesting to watch how he gets on in the PL. Don't think he really followed up his Euro hype last season

He was out for the majority of last season due to first a muscle injury and then a bacterial infection in the knee.

He suffers from some sort of arthritis. I don't know if it's because of that infection or he already suffered from it and that's what started the infection, but he has to take medication now - maybe for the rest of his life. The lad didn't have the best of luck after the EUROs.

If indeed Soton wants £40m for KWP; that would be the end of Spurs' interest in him. Too bad Levy did not insert a buy-black clause when he sold KWP

Chelsea turn their attention to £40m-rated Kyle Walker-Peters

Chelsea enquire about Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters as they urgently look to bolster their defence - but Blues are quoted £40m for the England international

  • Chelsea have registered an interest in signing Kyle Walker-Peters this summer
  • Thomas Tuchel is looking to add another defender to his squad for next season
  • Chelsea failed to sign Matthijs de Ligt, Presnel Kimpembe and Nathan Ake
  • Jules Kounde, another top Blues target, ended up agreeing to join Barcelona
  • Therefore, they have turned their attention to Walker-Peters and Marc Cucurella
  • Walker-Peters impressed Tuchel while playing under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl

Chelsea have registered an interest in signing Kyle Walker-Peters this summer as Thomas Tuchel looks to add another defender to his squad ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

I'm still mad about a) selling KWP and b) no buy-back clause. He would have been an awesome flex WB for this system!

You don't get a bacterial infection from arthritis (Unless you get something like a cortisone injection and develop the infection from there, or are on immunosuppressants) but arthritis to develop from a bacterial infection is definitely possible. Most of them are reactive and will go away over time, but there is a possibility of causing a chronic one as well.

Just a medical tidbit.

Crazy from Villa. Pains me to say it but Chelsea are making some good signings, especially if they get Fofana and Cucurella.
I agree they are making some good signings, but even still, I don't think Koulibaly will be as good as either Rudiger or Christensen were for them. Fofana still is young and somewhat unproven. Cucurella is excellent, but not dominant. The point is- they will be much more vulnerable this season than they have been in some time- I reckon a strong press will put their backline under immense pressure.

What’s so dumb about that tweet is that later in the thread he puts in context that teams around us are improving and, if our two best signings are hurt, we haven’t.

I mean, if you take out Jesus and Zinchemko, Woolwich, our remaining signings are much better than theirs. If you take Koulubaily and Sterling off Chelsea, then all they’ve done is lost two CBs while adding nothing. If you take Haaland and Phillips off City, they are going backwards.

The only reason to say that our signings are underwhelming without Bissouma and Perisic, while not applying the same standard to the other teams, is because you just really want to rip Spurs.

Is the right answer 👏
