If Henderson leaves Man Utd because he can't oust de Gea as the number 1 then I doubt he'll join Spurs to sit on the bench.
He signed that 5 years deal with Man Utd believing that he would be the no. 1 at Man Utd and he was given the chance but did not take it....so I doubt he'll take the same chance at Spurs - unless he's given assurance of being Spurs' number 1

Yeh I get all that......

Diff is Hugo is 36 this year...... DDG is 31.

.....Not convinced he got much of a chance at Utd. though.

Yes, I was aware of the age difference ... but Henderson looked set to replace de Gea when Solskjære gave him the chance... but then de Gear raised his game. Henderson must have it in the back of his mind that it could happen at Spurs as well with Lloris.

I think the GK question is one to postpone an answer too.
Hugo is good for another season (at least) IMO and I'm hoping a great Brad Friedel-type option will turn up.

There's no other big EPL jobs on the horizon, so it's up to him I guess.

The squad we are starting with is looking a lot stronger after the January window - lots of positive 'partnerships' on show today :

1. Bentancur/Hojberg CM partnership working really well. I'm confident Skipp will be able to play alongside either so we can get some rotation.

CM's working well with CB's to take the ball off them, so much less chance of losing possession. Equally its looking as if Bentancur's arrival has led to the cm's passing the ball forward to the forwards much faster at times - which makes Spurs a lot more dangerous.

2 Kulusevski has quickly linked with Kane and Son - we look more dangerous with the 3 of them playing together than Kane/Son with Moura or Bergwijn. Kulusevski adds creativity to the forwards as well as him being able to score goals - he's looking a bit similar to the role that Eriksen did.

Kulusevski also seems to be linking well with Doherty to form a right wing partnership.

So we've got more elements of the first team to build round which is good.

Doesn't change the fact that we need quite a few changes in the summer window - and assuming we we are only likely to be able to bring in maybe 6 or 8 players, we will still have some holes in the squad (impractical to integrate more than 6 or 8 new players,)........ so we will need more changes in next January and summer 2023.

+ Eriksen as an easy deal = CAM / CM / WFwd option.

If can we get all these done we should call it a day and see where we're at in January.

Our biggest priority is a LWB and RWB, if we fix those issues and do NOTHING else, it'll still be a decent window.

Say we get the two WBs, get a new LCB (e.g. Pau Torres), Eriksen as the creative CM, and Bissouma as B2B to replce PEH. We should be good enough to mix it with Liverpool, City, Chavs if not quite a title a race.

4 quality transfers in a single window with the kind of budget Spurs has would be near impossible though.

-Top RWB is an absolute must.

-IF RM buyback Reguilon, it gives us a nice excuse to go shopping for a top LWB. Otherwise we will have to go REALLY big in order to justify spending that much energy to significantly improve on Reggie.

-I think with the young CMs we already have, we could get away with an experienced vet for 1-2 seasons while Sarr matures, and avoid spending big here this summer

-Top LCB would be ideal if possible.

...get in an experienced CM vet on a free, and we might be able to focus our efforts on getting a top RWB and LCB, which is probably a reasonable expectation for major outlays in the summer.

PS: We also have to figure out a backup keeper too. Gollini I believe will be gone come the end of June.

Bissouma would be quite cheap as he's on the final year of his contract. If we get top 4 over the arseholes we should have almost a free run at him as the top 3 don't need him.

To those who have a faint hope of Spurs signing Gravenberch, I hope I am wrong but I can't see much a chance for Spurs.
However, the £289M price quoted is ridiculously low: Ajax will looking at Frenkie de Jon & de Ligt money when they sell him.

CLUB MAKE SHOCK MOVE THAT COULD WIN THEM £29M LIVERPOOL & SPURS TARGET

Bayern Munich reportedly made a surprise visit to Amsterdam this weekend in a move that could see the Bundesliga club sign Ajax talent and Liverpool and Tottenham target Ryan Gravenberch.

According to De Telegraaf, executive Oliver Kahn, technical director Marco Neppe and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic all made the trip to the Netherlands in an attempt to lure the teenage midfielder to Bavaria, with Gravenberch a target for Bayern.

Gravenberch is expected to leave Ajax this summer, with Bayern now firmly the favourites to sign the Dutch international in a deal that could cost as much as €35m (£29m), and this latest move is a huge blow for Liverpool and Tottenham.

Both clubs have been linked with Gravenberch in recent months despite the midfielder’s lacklustre form this season, and given his proven quality and potential as well as his age, there’s still plenty of time for the Ajax star to develop into a world-beater.

Indeed, the Premier League could have been perfect for Gravenberch’s style of play, however, Bayern now look strong favourites to land the midfielder this summer, with Ajax eager to sell their latest homegrown superstar.

With the Bundesliga side sending three of their top officials to Amsterdam to win over Gravenberch, Bayern are pulling out all the stops to win over the midfielder ahead of the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool.
Gravenberch would have been an exceptional signing for either Liverpool or Tottenham this summer, however, it now looks more likely than ever that Bayern will be the club that signs the talented Dutch midfielder in the transfer window.

With the Bundesliga champions sending key figures over to win over Gravenberch, Bayern are pulling out all the stops to land the 19-year-old talent, something Liverpool and Tottenham have so far failed to do as we head closer to the summer.

A few of caveats which make getting 6 - 8 players in a little harder :
1. We need 3 players in who qualify as HG (we have vacant spaces in squad so no player sale required)
2. Decent prices for Ndombele and Lo Celso and other players we may decide to sell (eg Royal), loans without an obligation to buy at a decent price could screw up our finances to buy a replacement
3. I want the incoming players to be possible starters, even if they are not necessarily first choice, so its a high quality threshold.

I think to get 6 players in is tough but achievable but to get 8 in will need a lot of things to go our way - and I'm assuming that if Gil is part of next years squad he counts as one of the incoming 6 or 8 players, Sarr I suspect needs another loan.
