A few of caveats which make getting 6 - 8 players in a little harder :
1. We need 3 players in who qualify as HG (we have vacant spaces in squad so no player sale required)
2. Decent prices for Ndombele and Lo Celso and other players we may decide to sell (eg Royal), loans without an obligation to buy at a decent price could screw up our finances to buy a replacement
3. I want the incoming players to be possible starters, even if they are not necessarily first choice, so its a high quality threshold.

My point was that I think 8 is neither likely nor sensible.

I think to get 6 players in is tough but achievable but to get 8 in will need a lot of things to go our way - and I'm assuming that if Gil is part of next years squad he counts as one of the incoming 6 or 8 players, Sarr I suspect needs another loan.

I'd loan them both back out...... I don't think developing guys of that age is a feasible part of project-Conte in the short term. Nor is it wise to starve them of game-time at such a key age.

"we we are only likely to be able to bring in maybe 6 or 8 players...."

RWB #1
LCB #1
CM (starter quality)
ST #2
GK #2
+ Eriksen as an easy deal = CAM / CM / WFwd option.

If can we get all these done we should call it a day and see where we're at in January.

bk_spur bk_spur ?
LeParisien LeParisien ?

I'm sceptical we will be dipping our toes in any of the secondary level European leagues this summer. I think Conte will want us going for players who can slot straight into the starting XI and that will mean players from here, Italy or Spain.

Shopping for fringe players with "room to grow" isn't the agenda...... Even if the arm-chair scouty types would like to think otherwise.

I still think Amrabat is the key.

I think we're all in agreement that while our team is taking shape nicely, we're desperate for more quality at wing-back position. I only see Doherty as a back-up player, while Reguilon is worth persevering with but definitely needs to improve. Not sure who's out there that we could realistically look to sign in the summer? People have mentioned Lamptey, myself on occasions, but he hasn't really impressed of late and is also rather injury hit. I'd say he's definitely someone who has potential but is also far from the finished article. Palace's Mitchell is someone that has caught my eye more than once this season, but I'd like to see how he does next season which can be much more difficult for players who have made a breakthrough. So who else do people have in mind?

P.S, Been diagnosed with good 'ole Covid today, so be nice to me. Feel free to ask for my PayPal.
