Cuadrado has been brilliant this season for Juve and Conte loves him as a player

Forget the age because I'm sure Conte isn't worried about age, but if we get Cuadrado & Perisic for free they would both be significant upgrades on our current wingbacks

I have always liked Cuadrado but his last time here wasn't exactly a success. From memory it was because he couldn't settle off the pitch. 7 years older now though of course, so if he came for a year it might not be the same.

He's 19 and was by far the best player on his team full of senior players .. in a quarter final game against the best team in the world. He wasn't poor in the second half, he just struggled to shine when City took full control of the game. Whenever he got the ball he was causing them problems.

Any time he got the ball, Southampton fans were excited. That's generally a good sign the match going fans rate a player.

I'm only taking the piss out of you for shits and giggles....

But one half match performance does not make a player "fucking brilliant" and it's that kind of "scouting" that has led us to buying so many duds over the years.

We are linked with a Georgian guy playing in the top Russian league now.
There must be loads of players in Russia right now trying to get out since the clubs are likely to be banned from European competitions for a very long time.

Well then you're being a dick.

The whole "one match" accusation is BS anyway..... People have been impressed with him for much of the season.

The clause is between Chelsea and Southampton. It wouldn't follow him to whatever club Southampton sell him to.

It is basically set up so that if he impresses at Southampton, Chelsea can buy him back at a cheaper than expected price. Or just buy him back if one of their rivals (us, Woolwich, United etc) try to buy him just so that they could spite us.
How do you know for sure? I am not saying I know. It may not be legal as it may count as 3rd party ownership but then again didn't Spurs' 50 % ownership transfer over to Sporting when he was sold to them by Vitoria...
What if Chelski can veto a sale to Spurs and/or simply offer the fee stipulated in the contract.
One thing is for sure: they do not want an ex-Chelksi player to excel at Spurs.

I wasn't basing him being brilliant on one game .. I've been to numerous Southampton games this season and he's been excellent in every one. He's also been very good in the games I've watched on tv, and is extremely highly rated by Southampton fans.

I hope to fucking god Spurs have never signed a player based on one good performance!

I was just gonna post that I did not notice this Livramento kid in the games v Spurs.
Looked it up and he didn't play in either!
I don't go out of my way to watch Soton but I may watch their next game to check him out.

Probably best you actually watch football in future. Much less chance of you causing yourself humiliation. He's been consistently very good this season, which anyone who has an understanding of football would acknowledge.

Doooooooooooooooooh

Maybe clarify that you don't only think he's brilliant because of that half against City when you saw him then ;)

I'm sure over the years Spurs have bought players who played well against us.

Not so smart if Chelski can buy him off Spurs (I also would like Livramento at Spurs). I am not saying they can - but so far no one has been able to explain exactly how this buy-back clause would apply in case Spurs (or any other club) did buy him from Soton. And now with the sanctions, there may be other factors affecting this contract.
If Phillips will totally recover from his hamstring injury (he's been out since 5th December) and is available at a "decent" price, then a yet to him.
If he moves on the buyback is dead, they can't force southampton not to sell but get first option to buy at X, if they decide or unable to southampton and the player are free to do what they want (otherwise its 3rd party influence)
