Can we hold off on determining whether Kulu is either the second coming of Robben or another Gedson Fernandes until the end of the season at least?

As of now, his performances, like the team, have been wildly inconsistent for me, making a determination pretty impossible. He certainly looks like an upgrade on Lucas or Bergwijn but I don’t know if makes him a squad player or a starter for a team chasing Champions League.

It makes perfect sense to extend the loan unless the automatic buy options are met.

Surely if he's available for that amount someone bigger than us will go in for him, the chavs need a new CB with Rudiger off...
Certainly not one I'll be getting my hopes up about.
Do we have any idea what sort of shape Chavs will be in when the window opens? How likely is it a new owner can or will continue their current spending?

Newcastle will be who we have to compete with for signings now though.

Don't make Kuluveski permanent. Bring back Gil for LW. Sell Lo Celso and Ndombele.
Kulusevski has a goal or assist every 110 minutes so far at Spurs. The idea that we shouldn't make the deal permanent is absurd.

Is he going to be the greatest winger in the PL.....maybe, but probably not. But he's absolutely shown enough to have a meaningful role at Spurs. Should we be looking at recruiting someone else in his position? Sure. The reason we never fucking win anything is we constantly try to have 11 really good players, and only 11. So our squad always falls apart, because it takes 20 strong players to win anything and stay in the CL places in the PL.

But I think that's distorted by a few matches where we destroyed opposition.

I don't think Kulu is the guy to step up if Kane and Son have an off day, or if our opponents have parked the bus and we need a way through. And essentially that's what we desperately need at RW.

I do think there's an argument to keep him as a back up RW... but then we need to bring in another player in that position.

Inter Milan and RB Leipzig both have so many players we would benefit from buying!

Dzeko Martinez
Gosens Barella Brozovic Calhanoglu Dumfries
Bastoni Skriniar de Vrij
Handanovic

A. Silva Nkunku
Angelino Olmo Kampl Laimer Mukiele
Gvardiol Orban Simakan
Gulasci

Goes back to the depth argument.

Let Kulu go and bring someone better in (who?) and you are left with Lucas/Berg as cover who have shown they offer very little in the Premier League.

I would make Kulu permanent and look to bring in another top quality forward that way we can always have a good front 3 on at any one time and not have such a big downgrade when we have to rotate.

We're always too thin. We arguably need to bring in players at every position, because our quality is far too thin, which is my point.

What we need when Kane is having an off day is another CF to bring on, like the clubs who win things do. Same with Son, etc. Which is why I've never been on board with selling many of our starters, such as Dier. Sure, Dier isn't good enough to be 1st choice in a CL/PL winning squad. But he's definitely good enough to play 1500+ minutes as 3rd choice CB for a CL/PL winning squad. So buy his replacement in the first XI, but there's no need to sell him.

Same with Kulu. Buy another class RW. Let the best one play 60% of the minutes, and the other one gets 40% of the minutes. But we're not likely to recruit *two* players better than Kulu, so no point letting Kulu go.

It's a real shame Diaz didn't happen. IMO if we made that signing we're in the top 4 comfortably and in all likelihood go on to make it. Hopefully we return in the summer to a player of that profile. As much as it's irritating we couldn't get it over the line, I'll give credit to Paratici/the club for trying for him at least, it would've been a very good move.
