What the fuck is it with people's obsession with him?

Manchester United should sign Max Aarons this summer, says Rio Ferdinand because the Norwich right back can 'impact the club at different levels' - amid doubts over Aaron Wan-Bissaka's future at Old Trafford

  • Manchester United are set for a big rebuild this summer under Erik ten Hag
  • Right back could be one area the Red Devils look to bolster during the off-season
  • Max Aarons has suffered two relegations with Norwich - including this season
Manchester United have been urged to sign Max Aarons by Rio Ferdinand as the club look to reset under new boss Erik ten Hag.

A new era at Old Trafford began on Monday with Ten Hag officially starting his role in the hotseat.

The Dutchman has a plethora of items to get on with in his in-tray already - including recruitment with up to 10 first-team stars leaving, as detailed by Sportsmail last week.

'Someone like Max Aarons you could put him like a Chris Smalling-type signing where they come in and they have an impact,' he told his Vibe with FIVE YouTube show.

'They may not be straight starters immediately but they go and they stay there for 10 years and have a really good career and they impact the club at different levels.'

Aarons made 35 appearances in all competitions for Norwich this season.

Kostic ( Perisic as a cheap 'b' option)
Spence/Baku
Bastoni
Eriksen and Neves/Milinko Savic
Moussa Diaby or Jonathan David

A bonus would be Jesus or Nkunku (my favourite player on this list), but I figure they'd be too expensive for players who wouldn't be everyday starters.
What chance Conte goes back for Traore for RWB? He wanted him in Jan, and also when at Chelsea. I think he likes the pace/power and thinks he can do a Moses on him.

I know it's Daily Trash...
And it's an "insider" yet again who's provided information

Spurs beat Woolwich to signing of Djed Spence with deal '99% going to happen'

Tottenham beat Woolwich to signing of Djed Spence with deal '99% going to happen'

On-loan Nottingham Forest full-back Djed Spence is reportedly set to complete a permanent move to Tottenham Hotspur from Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have beaten Woolwich to the signing of Djed Spence with the deal "99% going to happen" according to one insider.

Spence has starred on loan at Nottingham Forest from Middlesbrough this season and is set to appear in Sunday's Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium. Football Insider report that the England under-21 international's performances have earned him a summer move to Spurs, who have pipped their north London rivals Woolwich to the signing.

A reported £10million fee is understood to have been agreed between Spurs and Middlesbrough which will mean Spence will be a Premier League player next season regardless of the play-off final's outcome.

Thing is imagine £150mil + CL revenue + Sales

150M is added already to the revenue and the sales. Basically Uncle Joe decided to donate Spurs a bit of his money for the first time ever.
Not quite - the minority shareholders get diluted and ENIC grow their stake(in percentage terms - there's scope to establish ourselves semi-permanently in a 5 English team CL with more games and grow commercially off the back of that) . That said, far better for us as fans that that happens than ENIC spend that money buying them out. Add naming rights and we would be absolutely cooking.

Right back could be one position to bolster with Aaron Wan-Bissaka's future unclear - and Ferdinand believes Norwich City's Aarons is the perfect man for that role.

Aarons has suffered relegation twice from the top-flight with the Canaries, including this season, but Ferdinand feels he could mirror ex-United defender Chris Smalling in having a long career at the club.

'Someone like Max Aarons you could put him like a Chris Smalling-type signing where they come in and they have an impact,' he told his Vibe with FIVE YouTube show.

It's overvalued imho. Ronaldo was for the longest the gold standard, and it's the one thing where his age should have zero impact. When was the last you saw him put a direct free kick in? It's just a fan thing, not a practical thing, because it looks awesome.

If it was up to me, then any free kick, that isn't dead center of the goal, should be whipped with pace towards the far corner with people running across trying to get a nick on it.

Curiosity got me, and I just checked. This season: Ward-Prowse 4, Trippier 2, and no one else above 1. 2020/21: Ward-Prowse 4, no one above 1. It's a non-factor and not something we should base our transfers on at all.

Cheers for the stats. You're right, definitely shocked me how few are scored!

Fabrizio Romano has told his Here We Go podcast that Youri Tielemans will definitely leave Leicester this summer, and Tottenham are interested. But, Spurs are not alone, fighting five or six others for the Belgian’s signature.

Tielemans, 24, has reignited his career at Leicester since joining the club initially on loan in January 2019 from Monaco – before joining permanently for around £40million. He has since clocked up 149 games for the Foxes.

Give Me Sport reported last week that Tottenham will pursue a deal for Tielemans if they finish in fourth, qualifying for the Champions League. It is believed Leicester will be willing to do business in the £30million region.

Now, Romano has provided an update of his own. He states that Tielemans will “100%” leave Leicester this summer, and that Tottenham are interested. However, no talks have taken place, and Spurs have plenty of competition.

“Back in January, February, we said Tielemans will leave Leicester. Tielemans is going to leave Leicester at the end of the season, 100%. Many clubs interested, Tottenham included, but still nothing close,” Romano said.

“They are not negotiating with Leicester or Tielemans at the moment. They are exploring, but it is important to know if they are in the Champions League. He is on Tottenham’s radar, but five or six clubs are competing.”

ROMANO ON TIELEMANS: TOTTENHAM MUST DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN

Obviously, finishing in the Champions League places goes a long way to convincing the 49-time Belgium international over a move to North London. But Spurs have the manager, the facilities, the squad to tempt him.

Spurs do have options in midfield. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur have struck up a solid partnership, but it perhaps lacks a bit of attacking invention. Tielemans can do that, from deep.

For £30million, he is a bargain and something Tottenham must do all they can to get over the line in the coming weeks and months.

And Romano believes the 52-year-old will be demanding as many as six new additions to his squad before the 2022/23 campaign begins.

Romano said: “He always wants to make sure that the future is guaranteed and the club is backing him in every single point. So that’s what’s going to happen.

“They will have a meeting this week with Fabio Paratici, with Antonio Conte, with Daniel Levy – and once they will have everything in place, we will understand who are the targets, who are the players that they will try to sign.

“At the moment, it’s still something that they need to discuss internally: how many players; [what] is the budget? So many things to do between Conte and Tottenham before mentioning some targets, but for sure, if Antonio will stay, it’s because he’s sure that they will sign important players.

“He wants many players. I mean, 5/6 signings to continue and to be competitive next season.”

Tielemans not worth a bidding war tbh.

Not many will like this, me included, but I think we might make an offer for Maddison. During the season there have been rumblings that Conte likes him and we would be interested in signing him.

If Conte wants a number 10 and can't get Eriksen then Maddison might be an alternative

22 y/o AM/Winger.

Not gonna get drunk on this windfall.... If Fab & Toni want him; for 6m, don't even think twice.
Spam have had great luck with similar signings with Soucek and Coufal.

There's decent talent for dirt cheap in eastern Europe for teams that are able to sift through the crap.
