While I think he would be a good option I think we’ve been linked with better players in the forward position.

Also this stinks of Leeds throwing out ours and Chelsea names to get Woolwich to pay more money since they’ve apparently being “negotiating since March”
 
Not surprised at all about the Eriksen stuff. He totally fucked us last time he was here, Berbatov is the only comparable situation I can remember of just completely downing tools and giving not a single fuck. Never really got the sense he has a strong connection to the club, besides a few half-assed quotes when he played against us.

Four days after sleepwalking through the UCL final, he came out with an interview that he wanted a "new challenge". You just had the chance to win Champions League and you looked totally disinterested mate.

Spent the whole summer and winter trying to get Real Madrid and Barca interested, of which they had zaero, before settling for Inter, who were still clawing their way back relevancy thanks only to Conte.

Never really liked the bloke, never bought the fairytale return nonsense, hope he enjoys the 350k at United after talking about how he want to play in Champions League again. I tried to talk myself into him returning being a positive thing, especially because it was on a free but I feel quite relieved I don't have to watch him jog about in Spurs shirt again.

Yeah, he always came across aloof, and I don't mean an introvert.

I still want him though, he'd be the cheapest, most sensible transfer for that creative midfielder option.

I've made my feelings about Eriksen pretty clear at the time and in numerous "unpopular opinion" threads.

I tried to get on board as I was obviously quite moved by his return to football after his near death at the Euros and because I don't like being negative about Spurs if I can avoid it.

But I genuinely think of the post-Campbell transfer departures that none of them fuck me off as much as Eriksen. His performance in the UCL final, followed shortly by the interview, and then six months of embarrassingly downing tools was so disrespectful to club.

At least with Berba, Modric, Bale, Kane last year they were trying to fuck off because the club was out of Champions League and they had serious interest from a top 5 club in the world. Eriksen was desperate to bin us off after playing on the biggest stage of world football, when we were still in UCL, and with no top teams interested in him. He's lucky Conte worked his magic at Inter, because at the time that move happened it was a total lateral move or a step down even.

I really appreciate everything that Eriksen did for Spurs... that said I do not want him back because of these reasons.
