I suspect Winks doesn’t fancy sampdoria or Roma I’d expect him to end up At Southampton

It just kinda fits for him. I actually think in a 3 with Romeu and JWP it could be quite effective.

Aribo and Adams up not… not the worst

He has no future whatsoever with us its been made abundantly clear to him, he needs to find anyone that will take him and stop being a picky fudger and just fudge off asap!

What clarifies a player as being available?
Oh ffs, just read my responses to you.

Good article on Gil, well worth read for anyone who has not read it.

It's worth remembering that Barcelona scout German Vaya Ballabriga said of Gil the season before Tottenham snapped him up: "Right now he is Spain's best footballer and I compare him with Neymar. He can do certain things and has great versatility, as he can play at full-back, in the middle or on the left wing. It's impressive. I have spoken with [Barcelona's sporting director] Raman Planes about him and he has Bryan Gil in mind."

Is this the same scout who picked up Royal?
And Traore. Twice.

Maybe they just need a new scout

I can't see the new ownership continuing to spend their own money season after season this was put aside as cost of purchase. So either they need to get it right, buy smarter or there will be a decline down the league... They won't be able to spend their way out of trouble in the same way.
Indeed.

There was a really good analogy earlier in the thread, can't remember who, that likened it to buying your first house, where you spend a lot upfront to furnish it, but expect it to last a few years before you buy new again.

It does have that feel to it.

I'm wondering if Boehle did his due diligence by looking at their books. I'm struggling to see how he couldn't view them as a money pit when, even after all their sustained success, they still lost in excess of £1.5Bn over the last 20 years.

The only thing I can possibly think here is that he's expecting, and will probably back to the hilt, a super League breakaway. That's the only way that I can personally see Chelsea ever actually making money. Even then I have my doubts.

if they bought the club and started selling off assets they would become toxic pretty quickly. I think it's clever what they are doing. We're all left thinking "fuck, nothing has changed" so their brand and value remains high.

Others who know more than me, believe this group see it as a money making exercise, if so they will hope to ride the wave for 3-5 years whilst they service the debt and flip for a tidy profit. Unlike most businesses, football is quite easy to project future revenues...
They've just shelled out North of £4Bn. You honestly think they'll sell for more in 3-5 years?

Part of the £4+Bn was paying off the debt the club had run up, so it's not actually part of the club "value."

I honestly think they'll be lucky to get their money back, unless the super League happens.

Or they can somehow monetise the tens of millions social media ‘fans’ they have in Africa via the Metaverse

West Ham have agreed a deal for Paqueta and all we are served up is James Traore etc.
Better have something lined up otherwise bitterly disappointing.

Before I read your last paragraph I was going to say superleague or clubs selling their own TV rights.

I'm not sure the change in strategy is pure money making. The way Abromavich was running Chelsea was absolutely unsustainable. They had dozens of players sent out on loan every year and Abromavich had put 1.3 billion! into the club. They just weren't making anywhere close to what they were spending, so had to change it up.
