Transfers Summer 2022 Transfer Thread.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Merely emphasising how utterly fucking negative you constantly are. There is no transfer window in the world that we could do that would please you.

We got our main business done early and because of that have been quiet since, concentrating on outgoings

Seems like you and a handful of other usual suspects can’t handle that.
See my next comments. I saluted the club at the beginning but am now frustrated with the lack of progress since then.

After the Yves signing I said on this forum that. I think we have turned a corner and things are looking up. We got the deal done in a very unspursy way. In the way big clubs operate…
I would say my tacit enthusiasm continued with the Richy deal. But since then, that enthusiasm and optimism has disintegrated. It feels we are going for cheaper options once again.
I think you probably underestimate how much Conte will get out of our existing players during this season.
We don't need a whole new 11. We just need players to ease the burden of playing 3 games a week across 4 competitions.
I don't think we've had such a strong choice in a long time. Poch could never look past 11 players and let the squad decline because he only wanted upgrades for the starting 11.

Didn't play a lot of minutes in Spain, but his highlight reel shows that when he did, he did deliver. 700 minutes, 4 assists is a decent return for a bit part player.

If he can come off the bench for us and put 4 or 5 balls into the box in the final 15 minutes he will be an asset to the squad.

After everyone of these runs he requires a twenty min nap ice bath and a rub down by them geisha's that prepare the Wagu beef. Please stop tormenting football fans with this Adama crap....

Well i

Well if that’s your take, this discussion is wasted energy as you total blind faith in the the running of the club and won’t question any decision that it makes. Good or bad. Just nod your head.
I'll question decisions if I have the facts. But questioning decisions based on random Twitter posts or people's fixations with certain players, who the manager's system doesn't really require (see the tired creative midfielder discussion), is about as daft as it gets.

And you're basing this on what exactly? Random Twitter posts? The players you would like the club to sign? You sure as hell aren't basing it on anything factual, because neither you nor I have a scooby about what is going on inside the club and what discussions Conte, Levy, and Paratici are having about players.

The only thing we know for sure is that, if a player leaves, Conte wants a replacement. That's it. That's literally the only thing we know for sure. Everything else is made up shit.

What would Adama bring?

Go watch the game against us last season, he tore us to shreds. When he gets on the ball he is direct and very fast. His final ball has always been poor, but he's also never had Kane and Son to pass to.

it seems Conte wants us to break fast and get up the pitch quickly. Kulu and Kane clearly lack pace and Adama would give us another option in that area.

We have a lot of games to play this season, including the FA and Milk cups. Gil is not at the required level and ideally we don't want to be playing Kane, Son, Kulu in the cup games.

A backup front 3 of Adama, Richarlison and Moura would scare most defences and is certainly an improvement over any backup front 3 we have had for the last decade at least.

Along with our rumoured interest in St Max, it looks like Conte wants a fast player who can run the ball up the pitch quickly and beat players 1 on 1. I'd suggest that Adama may be our deadline day backup to whomever is our primary targets.
You make it look as if both Kane and Kulu are slowsters - but they are not. True, neither are speedsters either but neither "clearly lack pace" either. Compared to Adama Traoré most footballers would appear to "lack pace" anyway.
Kulu arrived with a "being slow" tag that has stuck to him among some fans (I wonder if they have seen him play) but he's shown time and again that he's able to beat defenders and match most of them for pace. Yes, he doesn't have a blistering pace but he's not easily beaten for pace either - and he's generally up against the fasters players in a team: the wing-/full-backs.
Kane has also shown that can run past defenders and that his pace hasn't let him down that much. And apart from Mbappe and Haaland, no top CF is exactly a speedster either.
Besides, Spurs will mainly be up against team that defend tight, so the speed of the brain is often more important.
Thus said, no, I would not have minded if both Kane and Kulu had been as fast as Adama but that's not gonna happen.

See my next comments. I saluted the club at the beginning but am now frustrated with the lack of progress since then.

This is Conte's image, he is controlling proceedings now, so any incoming and outgoings are purely down to what he wishes so if we aren't getting any players in at the moment it's because he's content with the squad, although he did say that if a player leaves then he expects them to be replaced so I'm 99% sure that we aren't finished.

The club are backing the manager here and that's all we asked for, so now you just gotta be fekin patient and trust the club and the manager, that's all you got to do because that was the expectation right?

So the question is why have your expectations changed?

According to this guy: Malinovskyi would be willing to join Marseille. Difficult deal for Marseille to do, would probably need to ship Cengiz Under. Malinovskyi first choice is Tottenham who have done nothing to progress a move to this point beyond minor interest in the player. My read is he's probably one name of 10 we have for an attacking player over the next week.

The players we are being linked with right now is so depressing.
We went into this window with such high hopes. Pau Torres, Bastoni, Bremer in defence. We’ve ended up with Lenglet, and we are still playing Davies and Sanchez.
Wing backs were a huge area that need upgrading. Perisic: great (for the short terms). But we are still stuck with Doherty, Royal, Sessingon (I really hope he comes good, on day) and meanwhile our other signing in this position is incapable of even making the bench.
We are crying out for ball playing creative central midfielder. Eriksen, Tielemens, Ruben Neves, James Ward Prowse, Paqueta were mentioned. We are now being linked with a 29 year old Atlanta player.
This was not the transfer window we were expecting. The players we have been slagging off for years are still here.
So much for the £150 warchest.
Yves and Richy (though not at that price (if only it were Jesus for cheaper)) I support as new additions. Persic too. The rest are pretty miserable.
I hope I’m proved wrong, but I suspect this will come back to bite us. It did after the Bale return window, in which everyone slagged me off for not thinking it was a brilliant window.
People who agree with this post are absolute morons on the highest order and should all be on your ignore list because they contribute nothing to the world.

And the reason we haven't got these missing pieces is because... we're sitting on our arse? Or does it have to do with what's available out there?

So tell me, sparky, who should we go for? And don't start throwing around names of players that are unavailable or that Conte doesn't want.

I'll wait...
There are players out there sweet cheeks but we need to get a move on because the team is bit predictable right now so yes
I'll wait 👌

Well, apparently Royal did not want to come. Turned out fine in the end. Although we don't have italians in the team to bed Bastoni in, but quite a few around the team.

Yea, I get your point.

It is not certainly recipe for catastrophe and it can work well but if I would have a choice between player that wants to come and player that does not want to come - I would be calmer with first option ;) .

seems right, it's a player we could easily get with our profile, losing Gil and the spending power we probably still have.
seems that we have our eye on someone else to replace Gil in the squad

No harm in thinking differently to others and analysing, but yeah this really a load of steaming BS IMO

Getting players in early is a massive step change for Levy, so fair play to Paratici for taking control of matters and for Levy securing funds / investment

I’m happy with all of the business but still hope we can add some star quality. Perhaps at RWB

no chance are we having 4 RWBs at the club. Conte seems perfectly happy with Emerson, he wouldve kicked up a stink if he thought RWB was a priority that wasn't sorted.
Think he's very happy with Emerson, and the option of "Matthew "

its either a CB, AM or both

Your wish may come true as I can see us ending up with bargain buy traore as a RWB option all brawn no brain.
