Throw in covid uncertainty, empty stadiums and Ropey league football, the spend difference is barely worth noting and we signed players in exactly the same positions.
Plus Rodon and also Vinucius on loan. The 2013 Bale money window rightly gets some hammer as does 2019 with Ndombele/Lo Celso but not sure 2020 was any better looking at that lot.
And a lot of fans on here and around the way were very pleased with that window.

Better than Tanganga but saying that Chelsea would probably loan him to all of the other clubs mentioned ahead of us I suspect it won't happen. Probably a leak from his agent to get him out of there.
Just look at the difference in quality between the 2020 and 2022 windows and that'll give you your answer. And the timing of the signings. And that we got what the manager asked for, rather than what the club wanted to buy.
