Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Hoping we can shift some of the deadwood out on loan to other forums in the next few days, hopefully Paratici shows us what he is made of.

Would hate for it to slam shut and we still have GOAT GOAT and Honest John Honest John training with the reserves.

Where did I say it wasn’t a good thing?

The dismissive tone of your prior posts speaks for itself.

Perisic is a good signing for sure, but he would have been more warmly received had wesigned him 5 years ago (you saw him hobble off against Wolves holding his hammie, his minutes will have to be managed) hardly ideal when our back up is Sessengnon.

5 years ago he wasn't playing as a WB and Spurs were still in love with Danny Rose, but hey... You keep chipping away, trying to demean our trfs.

That’s your opinion of Bissouma. I don’t share it.

It's a widely shared opinion.... Yids, oppo and pundits alike.

He’s good, but would he get it Liverpool, City Chelsea teams? No.

Why not?

Just cos those clubs already have their bases covered in that position; it doesn't mean he's not worthy of a top team.

Richarlison is a decent signing. Adds good back up and decent flexibility up front. He’ll come on and shake things up but does he improve the team in a massive way? I would argue no.

You willingly equating his signing to that of Vinicius just exposes your agenda for what it is.

Bogus.

The inconsistencies in criteria within your assessment from player to player in the above post exposes the same.

You we’re probably one of the ones arguing the excellent nature of signings like Doherty et al in 2020 but hence, here we are.

Stick with facts.... No-one's interested in your supposition.

Wanna take me to task...? Find some quotes and start from there.

At the moment I would give the window a B

We have got some serious ready made talent - Bissouma, Richarlison and Perisic

Brought talent young players - Spence and Destiny

Got in decent back up - Lenglet & Forster

It’s now lodged in my head that Spence and Destiny sounds like a 1970s, Saturday night variety act. Not quite in the first team yet but they’d be great at parties.

He was. Ferguson wanted him at United after bossing them weeks/days before joining us.

You mean when Fulham lost?

I wonder how comes we got him even though a "bigger club" wanted him....? (See bottom of post)

And you clearly haven’t seen ouch or Bissouma if you rate him that highly.

Seen plenty of him thanks..... Was eager to sign him and glad we did.

Am confident that once up and running he'll be a first teamer.

There’s a reason he hasn’t started for us yet

Yeh there is.... That reason being covid and a minor 'pull' depriving him of the much fabled Conte pre-season.

If by the end of the season he's not a first teamer for us then kudos to your judgement, but in this moment you're clearly laying it on thick as a means to kick against our trf window.

and there’s a reason no other top team we’re in for him.

Have you spoke to his agent to clarify who was or wasn't also interested?

(Afterall; as per your Dembele anecdote; Spurs seemingly have a history of beating "Bigger clubs" to the signing of CMs......)

patchy form luxury attacking midfielder for Fulham, he did have a great game away at old Trafford which probably sticks in the memory.

But he really wasn't great, his form and eventual removal from the starting 11 under AVB then Sherwood attested to that.
became barely a bench player for us, Wasn't till Poch worked with him, and turned him into a box to box beast that he achieved his potential for a sweet couple seasons.

Where as Bissouma was truly bossing good teams from CM last season. I think he's an outstanding signing and his low price makes it sometimes seem not. If he cost the £70 million brighton would ask if he had years left on his contract, the window would have a very different feel for even the most negative i feel.
The only concern i'd have is he was part of a very well oiled Brighton machine. Bit like Ajax players, or some Wenger/ Poch era players. Is it the man or the system he's playing in

Fair point about 'system' players..... Thing is, Conte-ball is pretty systemic so I'm confident that shouldn't be much of a factor.

I accept my views are in the minority. And tbf, that's a top post 🏅

Then I will say...fuck them offf!!! Like I used to. My point was, theres no need to be angry at levy/enic currently, as he seems to be fixing his fuckups of the past 5 years.

Why are you so upset about this? It just seems very random.
I'm not upset about this. I just find these types of musings hilarious when the threat is not followed by any meaningful reaction. I mean, telling them to fuck off is really going to make them change tack for sure.

I am so glad we have a manager who literally has the bald one by the short and curlies. I honestly think under any other manager, Levy would rid of Gil and most likely leave us short. Conte shooting that warning is fabulous

i'm not sure why that means he has him by the short and curlies? FB has control of the budget, and he's in dialogue with Conte and the scouting dept. Between them it sounds like they feel an upgrade on a couple of players is necessary, and to make room they have to loan/sell. It's obvious and Conte is stating that. If those players stay I fully expect him to say he is happy, and there was no point replacing with inferior players.

Yes I do actually.

Very similar low budget, safe, consolidation transfers. (Bar the somewhat bizarre expenditure of 60 mil on Richarlison) The only position you could argue for 100% that we have strengthened is LWB.

No transfer that really screams ambition or trying to really push the boat out.

Just my opinion.
I mean, you're entitled to your opinion, but the fact that Conte is happy with the business we've done still leads you to that opinion?! That's a bit bizarre, mate.

Are you one of those people to whom the only thing that matters is how many expensive signings we make, even if some of the players the manager may be asking for are not that expensive?

What contract has he signed? And with who? Last time I checked he was still our player.
Intention to sign a player and actually signing the player are two different things.
There are various reasons why we could fail to get a deal done, especially if we are dealing with Spanish and Italian clubs.

There is a loan contract that both clubs and the player signs.

The player doesn't just turn up in Spain on Monday with his boots and sandwich box.

Sad little boys wanking off over the prospect of some form of fantasy power struggle.

Yep.

It’s actually quite staggering when you put it like that. Even the same type of player in each position!

-An old, experienced cheap English back up keeper.
-A mostly very highly regarded left wing back (let’s hope Perisic proves a better buy than Regi)
-A solid mid table premier league midfielder for relatively cheap.
- a Brazilian number 9.
- a cheap second/third/fourth choice option at Centre Back.

Pretty much the only difference of any substance is the wild card of Bale in 2020.
What's staggering is that you are questioning whether Perisic will be a better WB than Reguilon.

What's staggering is that you are calling Bissouma, probably one of the 5 best CMs in the league, a solid midtable midfielder.

What's staggering is that you are equating Brazil's starting #9 with Carlos Vinicius.

What's staggering is that you consider Lenglet, a player with unquestionable quality who hit a rough patch at Barca, a cheap second/third/fourth choice option.

That's what's staggering.
