Dier is more shot than either Jan or Toby when we shifted them.
Jan was toast in Portugal.
Toby had a year in Saudi and is now on a retirement tour in Belgium.

I can't wait to see one or both of them come back over for a legends match. They'll get a proper roar from the crowd.Jan was toast in Portugal.

Yep but what I meant by a statement signing is that it hardly tells the rest of football that Spurs mean business if we sign Woolwich rejects. Sign a big name player then it sends a statement to other big names that Spurs are serious and might encourage some of them to sign. Maybe even Kane could be persuaded to stay as well. Sign Guendouzi and it will likely have the opposite effectWho cares about "statements".....
Only 2 kinds of signing.... Good & bad.

Both are still more useful than this version of Dier. He’s been woeful this season (I say that as someone who thought he was excellent second half of last season)Jan was toast in Portugal.

Remember that time we were close to signing Bastoni?
No? Me neither. Was never going to happen.

That's a fantastic salary on the continent.
5M net is also a lot more than the gross wages, which is how the figures are quoted in England

Reminds me of Ruud Gullit's frustated comment when the chavs lowballed him all those years ago...5M net is also a lot more than the gross wages, which is how the figures are quoted in England
hes fucking shit. have you actually watched him or are you just saying it because hes been playing in a side thats destroying teams? hes a fucking weak link for them. hes dog shit on the ball! how ancelotti has not moved vini over to target him i do not know!Manuel Akanji cost Man City just £15 million (summer 2022) and is the sort of player Spurs needed.
I know it's too late now but I wonder why on earth Spurs didn't go for him at that priceMan City got him relatively late in the transfer window.

Calm down. He cost them only £15m and he's played 2 games vs Real M. and looked "solid", so he can't be as shit as you claim him to be...hes fucking shit. have you actually watched him or are you just saying it because hes been playing in a side thats destroying teams? hes a fucking weak link for them. hes dog shit on the ball! how ancelotti has not moved vini over to target him i do not know!
He cost just £15m, so you can't expect him to be world-class but he looked solid being played out of position (he's a right-footed CB playing as LB) vs Real M. in 2 games now. And he was up against Rodrygo.Calm down, Akanji in our defence would be a joke, he doesn't have to defend for 80% of matches for City where as for us...
