Another square peg in a round hole during another phase of revolving door managerial appointments? A “club signing” as opposed to what the manager really wants to get a job done? This is my concern but I’m happy that’s the collective weight of opinion reckons I’m wrong and he’s going to smash it - pinging ball after ball to our forwards who are going to bag us an extra 20 goals plus per season. If it’s half true I’m fapping.

Okay, bang average is probably pushing it, but he's in no way an elite defender. Strong, yes. But would I trust him in the PL where the standard is much higher? 🤔. And you don't play out from the back with him.

Give me Romero & Bremer as our starting CB duo and I'm sweating buckets every min of every game.

Vlahovic was class at Fiorentina but been pretty shite at Juve. Milik got nearly as many goals as he did. Let the Chavs have him...yet another expensive No 9 flop for them.

Think London was main reason maddison wants to come to us. Also England team chances improve. Let's be honest apart from a good weekend out not much else going on in newcastle

I can’t see too many managers being upset at getting a player of Maddison’s quality. And at the price? It’s a steal and, hopefully, the surplus is going to be used to get another player that fits the manager’s scheme.
 
If I'm being greedy I'd like another AM to back up maddison. Likewise with kane. Seen clips of that van der wel at Wolfsburg. Looks quick and quite silky on the ball. Tbh I'm a bit stunned we are getting our deals done early. Unless paul mckenna has had a chat with levy.

Without Europe, we don’t really have the games to have a bloated squad. It would be nice but probably isn’t practical. At best, we could have a young backup that would focus mostly on developing.
 
Reports that Winks to Leicester for circa £10m.

Although there are 2 separate transactions that means Maddison changes from being a £40m (plus extras ?) fee to more like a £30m plus Winks fee.

What's not to like ?

If I'm being honest when conte was in charge and read he abandoned the academy, massive red flag for me. Would like to see spence given a shot in pre-season as I think he can be a good player. Hopefully bissouma will push on as well. I do rate porro as well.
