He is making 85K and working in London.
His next gig is probably going to be worth half of that and will be in who knows where.
I’d give that up because some rando on the Internet has his nose put out of joint.
not everyone would have that view on it. if you had some personal pride you would rather go where you are wanted rather than continue to rob a living and punch way above your weight. a proud man would find it embarrassing

Half of the people in every job are below average.
Do they all resign and take a 50% pay cut?
if i was a plumber working for a big plumbing firm up london and i was fucking incompetent and costing the company money, if i wasnt sacked i would do them the favour of fucking off and finding another job. youd have to be some fucking arsehole to keep turning in and fucking shit up for everyone else on the firm just so you can get a wage.

If there is one mistake that should be avoided at all cost next season is a clean slate for Eric Dier

This cunt doesn’t deserve one and should be forced to leave, I urge big Ange to ban him from the training ground and exclude him from pre season trip to Australia .

The news about him wanting to stay has rattled me 😂😂

Haven’t seen Fofana play but if he’s an out and out 6 then I’m all for him.

I think an out and out number 6 that we can really build our midfield around should be far higher up on the priority list than it seems to be. It’s such an absolutely vital position and every top team has one. You can see why Woolwich are so desperate to get Rice in, why Chelsea were so desperate to get Enzo Fernandes in etc.
We don’t need any more of these box to box, hybrid 6/8’s that we are perpetually linked with. We need a specialist DM/deep lying playmaker.

None of our current midfielders have the required qualities to properly play the role.

I don't disagree, like you, believe every great team generally has a great 6. I am not convinced Fofana is that guy though. He's decent, and is young so may get better but I'm not sure he'd be an upgrade on Bissouma (if we decided to use him as the 6) to be honest. If it was Caicedo, then I'd be in.

'pride' has its price and if the prev poster is accurate ... Which he prob is. £45000 a week would blow any thoughts of pride out of the window... 45000....., a years school fees at some posh school every,?? Couple of weeks..uni fees plus rent plus spends for 3 years every month ish. .NO QUESTION. .i'de swallow 'pride' for that..

proper pride cant be bought. and living off 45k a week but being able to look yourself in the mirror and not see a cunt looking back is far greater than 90 and being worthless to yourself.

you know at 45k a week its not like hes going to be skint. you think his life is going to be drastically different being on 90 instead of 45? whats he going to get on 90 instead of 45? hes still going to be living in a fat mansion, still going to have clothes, cars watches whatever he wants.

45k a week and potentially be actually happy which is priceless is far more appealing that double the money (which you cant really spend anyway) and being miserable and looking like a mug.

Dier could regain the form that got him to the world cup this coming season. Both he and Son suffered throughout last season, playing with injuries. Now the two of them have had surgery, there's a good chance they will push on. I hope they do

I’ve worked with guys who came into work, sat in an office and did nothing because they had fixed term contracts and the company hoped they could be bored or shamed into quitting. It doesn’t happen because of the amounts involved and because the employer voluntarily signed a contract.
Edited to add: As it is, most of the below average people that I’ve worked with over the years were too self-unaware to realize that they were below average. It’s a self-protection device to for these people to think they’re better than they are especially if there’s no objective method to measure performance

Sorry mate but in the real world 45000 a week, that SIX MILLION QUID over 3 years... NOBODY in their right minds would walk away from that

dier is financially comfortable for the rest of his life. the extra 6 mill or whatever is not going to change his life. 6 million to you is not 6 million to a multimillionaire whos going to have more money than he can spend in his life anyway. happiness should be more important to him.

hes still going to always have money in the bank, have the fat mansion he wants to live in, have the cars and all the other luxuries he wants. if hes not stupid with his money hes going to be comfy till he dies. if hes a mug with his money then it all doesnt matter anyway hes always going to go bust.

Six mil is six mil no matter who you are.. especially to a footballer whose one wild tackle or clumsy stretch away from obscurity and let's not forget he would have seen plenty fall by the way side.

Interesting take from Prof on COYS (always with some salt of course) but interesting to see maybe a new modus operandi from the club regarding transfers and especially DL ..... time will tell ...🤞

Prof on COYS

Most of the people in the decision-making process very highly rate Taps. The data team, some of our scouts (unfortunately we still have some scouts - for now - who haven’t bought into this new way of thinking and working), and especially the two people who aren’t yet employees of the club believe he’d be a great fit for our plans. Having said that, we feel we’ve offered a very fair price and if Leverkusen are good to go at that price, we do it. If not, we’ll spend the money on other targets. For the first time that many of us can remember we’re not messing other clubs around by nickel and dimeing them, and we’re not allowing ourselves to be messed around by other clubs. Feels both weird and wonderful to be working this way. We’re moving with speed and purpose. Surreal. Hoping DL has the spheres to stay the course.

so in what way is this extra 6 million going to change his life? you do realise hes not a pauper? hes been robbing the club for fucking years! hes not short of a pound note. so how do you think this extra 6 mill is going to change his life? he looks fucking miserable being exposed week in week out.

his body language looks depressed imo. that slouch and walk he does with that look on his face. he needs to be put out of his misery

He's made 28, 35, and 33 PL appearances at Spurs the past 3 season. Other than trawling internet forums, exactly how is he supposed to perceive that he's unwanted?

He doesn't have to cash in a great salary at a club he's spent a decade of his life at in one of football's destination cities because daveyboy88 wants him to go play somewhere else.

Prof on Coys (with the obligatory Salt)

We’ve signed a couple of players this week, and are making good progress on two others. My calendar must be awry.

PS. (on of the ones were making progress is Edmond Tapsoba)
