You seem to be forgetting the LEVY factor all other clubs dont have to abide by, we can be 1000% serious but that will never stop a certain someone moving the goal posts at the end, play silly buggers or keep haggling to the last second as pen touches paper for the signature. this is not even a dig to levy anymore it is just a fact you/we all have to accept and will be the Modus Operandi as long as his regime will be here, accept it and move on else its just wasting your time and energy over something you will never ever be able to control.

According to Milliyet, Tottenham Hotspur have submitted a substantial part-exchange offer to sign Victor Nelsson and Nicolo Zaniolo in a double deal from Galatasaray.

It is alleged that Timur asked Spurs to pay a combined fee of €60m (£51.5m) for the centre-back and the winger.

Instead, the Lilywhites reportedly proposed a ‘crazy offer’ which includes two to three of their own players plus €30m-€35m (£25.7m-£30m) for the duo.
 
Anyone that says 'This isn't Football Manager. It's not that easy' obviously hasn't paid Football Manager in a while.

It is very difficult to sign top players on there these days.

One 17 year old wonderkid looked down his nose at joining Spurs from some Belgium team in my current save!

In all seriousness, this season is about starting to get back on track, surely. My wishes are for us to to see signs of improvement as we go along the season, along with watching us play attacking, exciting football.

We're a million miles from winning anything of note at the moment.

Attacking football, continuous improvements, dregs shipped out, top 6 finish...

To be clear, that's my expectation/hope for THIS season. If we achieved that, I'd expect further improvements the following season.

This isn't a valid measure. Many of these transfers were made very recently. We all know fees have been increasing rapidly so more recent fees will be inflated and also a number of them haven't had a chance to settle.

Introduce some additional granularity for our areas of need:

10 most expensive premier league midfielders ever:
- E. Fernandez (jury's out)
-Grealish (success)
- Paul Pogba (successful enough - won a europa league, and a league cup in a poor utd side)
- De Bruyne (success)
- Casemiro (success)
- Szoboszlai (jury's out but looks a good player)
- Rodri (success)
- Bruno Fernandes (success)
- Mount (jury's out but good player for chelsea)

10 most expensive premier league defenders:
- Maguire (failure)
-VVD (success)
-Fofana (jury's out-he's young)
-Dias (success)
-Cucurella (failure/jury's out)
-Cancelo (success)
-Laporte (success)
-Ben white (success)
-Benjamin mendy (anomaly, success until legal issues)
-Lisandro Martinez (success)

There's not many players on that list who wouldn't have improved the spurs first 11

Yeah agree with that.

We are the only member of the big 6, now add Newcastle to the max that could use 6th and serious in the same sentence for ANY season.

Edit: if I’m Kane, I’m not sticking around for 6th and better football
