I would expect Maddison to be tempted by the opportunity to play Champions football. Apparently Spurs & Newcastle are the two clubs that are interested !
We've been monitoring James Maddison since he was at Coventry 9 years ago. Best to not rush these things. Bit more scouting required. Hopefully we'll swoop in by the time he's 35.

I think we should be able to do better for me he's a bit over-rated. But i guess he's flavour of the month for many at the moment.
I feel that London would be a big draw for him & I imagine who the next manager is going to be will play a big part in any players decision . I do feel that Eddie Howe and his style of football makes Newcastle attractive as well as the financial power that they have.
Is he massively overrated?
I actually ..ahem..scouted this guy a few years ago and thought he would have been a great buy. Baffled me why we weren't in for him because he wasn't that dear. Haven't really followed him since.

Not really.. I don't think anybody is making him out to be the next KDB.. he's somewhere between an 8 and a 10.. kind of player who could play for the top sides. Gundogan mould..not to say he'll ever be that good. I'd have him over Maddison I think, though Maddison will always put up better g/a numbers and has better highlight qualities.
He would do well (Mac) as the link between Son and Kane…. Always plays on the turn and moves the ball fwd quickly. Maddison can delay and hang onto the ball before slashing a diagonal
I suppose Kane is off so doesn’t matter too much

Every player is different, some will react to certain environments well, some curtailed by injury. If Lo Celso hadn't been so injury prone and we bought him a year earlier (before the Poch era soured) he could have been a successful player for us. Lo Celso is definitely dinky in a way MacAllister isn't.. dinky as in physically frail, easily shrugged off balance, weak shot/cross. Lo Celso when fit is a good player but he's so rarely fit. MacAllister also seems a bit happier living in England than Lo Celso. Could see him being a good player for current Ars or City.. whereas I think Lo Celso is far too inconsistent technically and physically to make that grade.
