Those on here saying let's spend 50 mil on that Colwill kid from Chelsea...you guys on some friggin serious drugs or what?!

He's played 10 PL games in his life....10! Plus another 30 in the Ch'ship.

I don't care how promising he looks or the comparison to that Ben Fucking White. You don't spend that money on a kid with 10 PL games to his name!!

Haven't you learned from the Sess debacle?

Ps: his name is Levi and we got one too many of them already at the club

Who said 50m?

Colwill looks better than White though

fogueres fogueres and anyone else who fancies themselves in the know: Will Juve need to sell off assets, if they fail to make the CL?

In the midst Bellingham, another summer of Mbappe speculation, Chavs fire sale, and possibly Messi's next club, I wonder if someone like Chiesa would get lost in the muddle, and we could sneak in. Would be a fantastic addition from what I've seen.
0 chance they sell Chiesa. Vlahovic looks extremely likely to go, but Chiesa and Miretti are the players Juve are building their future around.

Some clubs do invest in players like this.

They tend to win things :)

You don't get to make signings like this unless you are currently in the very top bubble at the time the player comes onto the market (and percieved to be staying there for the foreseeable)....... Ditto Haaland last summer.

The moment Bellingham became seen as a 'repair job', rather than strengthening an already high functioning team; it was over for Liverpool's chances of signing him..... Ditto when they were briefly linked with Mbappe a couple of years ago.

........It's got nothing to do with willingness to "invest" or not. Levy could whack £200m in hard cash on the table for our next manager and say "Sign a superstar..... Take your pick" but not one of the above players would agree to come here regardless.

This thread was originally in response to klopps statements on how it is childish to want something that is more expensive than you can afford.

Klopp's point was financial.

Also, if you are the kind of club that repeatedly invests in players like this you tend to be in that top bubble.

Yeah, we can compete with City and Real Madrid.
If Liverpool, whose revenue dwarfs ours, can’t afford him then do you actually think we’ve a serious chance?
Perhaps you can put up a ‘GoFundMe’ page?

I didn't say we had a chance of him, I was responding to the comment that implied that its not levys fault we don't invest in big players.

The decision literally lays with levy..

Very naive to think our owners can't invest more in experienced or elite players. It's a choice to spread our revenue across high potential punts with upside rather than tested talent. Quality over quantity.
