This is a Spurs forum btw - for Spurs fans - you know, being supportive of our players etc. I hope and expect that I speak for 95% of 'the room' on here when I say by all means let's discuss trying to replace players who aren't good enough, let's be disappointed and criticise them when they make mistakes if we wish, but anyone who calls not quite good enough players who are struggling 'cunts' who 'have no pride', and should 'fuck off' should, well, fuck off themselves as far as most on here are concerned.

Exactly, last testimonial was Ledley in 2014 but that's because his career was cut short would be my guess. Only Lloris and Kane would meet the 10 year criteria now and neither would need a testimonial unless it was done for charity.

No but they should as ten years service is rare in the game. He might be thinking he’ll get one or maybe he’s been told he will. Fucked if I know. I think
Dier should go as I doubt he will play but none of us know what Ange is thinking or will see in training. He might like him.

That’s what most of the top players do. Dier seems a clever guy who’s not spunked his money so if he did get one he’d likely do the same. Maybe the lad just loves being at Tottenham and wants to see if Ange likes him. If not he might go out on loan to put himself in the shop window.

Testimonials aren't always the money spinner people think they are. Gary Mabbutt had his in the middle of the Sugar/Littner era and got billed for the stadium costs while Phil Beal actually lost money from his testimonial (see the book Dream On by Alex Fynn and H Davidson).

These days, most players don't need testimonials which is just as well because I'm not sure there would be a lot of people turning up for Eric Dier which is a shame because he has served the club for many years just not in a way that engenders love and support from the fans.
