I was referring to you saying he (Mount) was a mistake.

Kane us a much better goal scorer but you get Kane for two potentially declining years, you get Mount for 6.

It’s an apples/oranges at different weights kind of equation.

Kane will still go for more.
I wasn't saying Mount was a mistake, I'm saying if Mount can go for that much £100m for Kane should be a no-brainer.

You are making an unreasonable assumption that Bayern will get "two potentially declining years" when they sold Lewandowski for €50m at 34, Benzema only became as good as Kane after 30. Kane is also a smart, not physical player, so he should last for a long time.

The point is that Bayern are currently offering only about £20m more than what United paid for mount. Fucking Kai Havertz went for £65m, Kane scored 30 goals last season, this is 2 fewer than Kai has scored in his entire chelsea career, across all competitions.

I don't think you're understanding how HOW MUCH BETTER Kane is than these other wankers.

Blatantly stole this off Twitter but Son > Emerson>Richarlson > Maddison is some proper Pokémon evolution right there!

Who’s the Daddy, Spurs.

I wasn't saying Mount was a mistake,

I think you said something about how Chelsea are still getting huge fees for their (inferred) transfer “mistakes”. All I was pointing out was he wasn’t a transfer “mistake”.

But there’s a point at which economics and inherent value come into the equation (for most clubs). Regardless of how long Bayern will get out of Kane, he will have virtually no inherent value by the end of the contract. Mount will.

It’s not everything, but it’s part of the calculation in most cases.

I’m just trying to rationalise why Kane is probably only worth 20-30m more than Mount in this situation.

Wonder if we offer less and loan back for a season.
Would like us to offer a little less, and offer Devine.

Think Scott looked much nearer first team ready when together recently, both high quality talents, but Scott was able to be much more persistent in his input and influence. Probably from regular men’s games all season, which would hopefully sharpen this aspect of Devines game, as he has those game winning qualities in his locker more than Scott (from small sample size).

Wouldn’t be averse to loaning them both, as mates giving them a mutual experience might be a very prudent move.

I'm sure you can make these arguments, but there are counter arguements to all this. I'm just saying that despite all these rationalizations Kane should still be easily worth over 100m. I mean if Hazard can be 120m on the final year of his contract, why the fuck can't Kane be 100m?

Whatever resale value the likes of Mount have, there are alternatives, Kane is unique, you can't go somewhere else and get your own Kane if RM or City snap him up. Also, if Kane should leave on a free next summer, it will certainly not be to Bayern, so they should feel obliged to pay up a bit more to get in before he's out of their reach.

Saw a little rumour about Chiesa to Spurs. I would love him here, but that would probably mean we had sold Kane if he comes. Well fuck it. I want Chiesa.

Eric Dier isn't a twat for wanting to stay, but have to say the guy is fucking delusional. How can you look at the shit that went down the last two seasons and still think you're fit to play here.

Then again, he's managed to blag his way this far.
Pal, I know where you're coming from but come on...he didn't "blag his way this far".

You don't blag your way to playing over 300 pro games for Spurs, 50 odd caps for England, and score 20 ish goals as a defensive player. You just don't, you get found out way earlier.

Eric is what he is these days, no two ways about it, the lad's fallen off a cliff. But he once was a pretty solid contributor. Guy's played as a RB, DM, CM, CB. He's rarely injured or suspended. According to many reports, he's the type of guy who's first in, last out at practice. He defo has an ego and knows how to "play the game", is on the players' committee and all that...but he's also a dead clever guy, and apparently a very nice likeable bloke.

He's likely done at Spurs (probably with ENG too), but he's still got plenty footy in him. Just needs a league & a club where his skillset is a good fit. Bit like with Smalling at Roma.

If/when he does go, he should leave with our thanks and best wishes, not insults. As football fans, we're an emotional people...but when we think about things calmly & logically, that's when we get that a lad like Dier deserves our respect cause he's done more good stuff for the club than shit.
