Laporte is left-footed but can play either side?

If he can play RCB as well, this makes a lot of sense.

City won't sell to us though.
If we signed Laporte , we could play VDV2 at LB, allowing him time to adapt to the pace of the PL.

We all know Verts became a better player alongside Toby, because there was better communication & cohesion at the back.

Toby was good but not elite in terms of his defensive skillset, but he was a great organiser & calming presence.

Frankly, a back 4 involving the likes of Porro, Romero, VDV2 & Udogie is sorely lacking a leader & organiser Romero would be the senior player, but he tends to play his own game regardless of what's going on around him.

Slot Laporte in there at LCB, as the organiser, with Romero to his right, and VDV2 or Udogie on the left flank, and our defence would look a lot stronger.

Laporte is 29/30.

He wouldn't need to play every week.

I think if you are starting a project with Romero and VDV you play them together as much as you can but maybe against City or woolwich, even UTD, Laporte at LCB is a good shout next to Romero. Also, whoever the 3rd CB is, they have to be as good playing RCB when Romero isn't available.

VDV at LB might happen a few times as well I agree but not as your main starting 11 option?

Veliiz travelling over night, and probably about 10 hours or so flying time so I guess medical on Monday ? Maybe see game on Sunday

Any flight-trackers???

If we can get someone like Laporte it would add much need experience and balance.
Yeah that’s I think an underrated aspect of team building we need. In Kane, Lloris, and Son, we’ve had established international captains and worldwide figures, big voices and examples of true top class professionalism.

Assuming Kane goes, our oldest starting player after Son would be… Maddison, who’s only 26 and really hasn’t led a team ever.

It would be good to get a proper top class professional to show the team the ropes, the sort of impact that a William Gallas had on the team in 2010-12. Dier does his best to be that, and I do think he’s a natural leader, but he’s unfortunately quite shit.

Fuck me, what a signing for Brighton, mental times

Prem is awash with cash and this league dominates now. It’s why even Brighton and Villa can get top players across European.

Next season the top 4/6 will be the top 10. City, Arse, United, Liverpool, Chavs, Villa, Brighton, us, Newcastle even Brentford. All good sides, I have honestly never seen anything like it in any league. 50% of games very hard.
