I don't think it'll affect bringing in new players. If you identify a new player that you absolutely must pull the trigger on right away, then you go the "get rid" route, which is always available to you.
Well in that case the apologists on here saying that we can't bring anyone in because of squad size must be wrong then. Can't have it both ways.

Either the squad size means we can't bring new players in or it doesn't.

We’re not buying Lukaku, no chance this is true. The only time we’ve even paid a fee for a player over 27 in the last decade was Llorente who cost like 12m and was on reasonable wages and a short contract. Buying a big money 30 year old is just not the way the club operates.

Opportunistic loan at most, zero chance we buy him outright, save your anger.

Juve have bid 32m plus 2m add ons for Lukaku. I really can't see us bidding that for a 30 year old.

What’s harder to believe: that Juventus bid that much for him or that Chelsea didn’t accept it?

I’m of the opinion only if on loan and only if all other options have been exhausted. Big gamble and if he is (likely) shite then we don’t need another journeyman on contract, thanks.

It's a great question if Vlahovic is as good as some say and after a year Juve concluded he is inferior to Lukaku. I mean they are the same kind of player. Big red flag here.
I appreciate your opinion on Vlahovic. I’m still intrigued by him. Then again, he might disappear like Jovic ( funnily enough, now at Fiorentina), so I’m not fussed. Fully see it as a gamble.

I just don’t get Juve. Unless they’re just having a fire sale.

Have Fulham made an enquiry?

If not, it's not opportunism but wishful thinking.

"Breaking news: Spurs have offered Fulham the chance to sign etc...."

Seen such a statement a load of times over the years.......

The so-called window of opportunity alludes to the fact that clubs like that aren't typically is the position to spend 40m on a ST replacement..... And if Rich is as shit as peeps insist then clubs that can typically afford such fees won't want him.

It is dependent on Vlahović being sold.
